Some 2,000 acres were annexed by 1962, including the areas that are now Winston Knolls, Westbury and the Paul Douglas Forest Preserve.

In 1973, Kingston Urban Renewal Agency purchased it, and the exterior of the building was restored.

1975

One of the architectural and historic highlights of Kingston’s Stockade District, the Hoffman House was placed on the National Register as a historic landmark on June 13th 1975.

In 1975, Pat and Ginny Bradley purchased the Hoffman House and began its restoration.

Hoffman Estates High School was named as one of the outstanding high schools in the state in 1987 and the Village of Hoffman Estates has won six Governor's Home Town Awards for its innovative programs.
