Tassel Depot company history timeline

1864

Tassel Depot, also known as Hofmann and Leavy began in 1864 and has been manufacturing handcrafted tassels since its origin.

1865

At about that same time, President Hinckley received from him as a gift to the Church a draft letter of Thomas Bullock, dated 27 January 1865.

1921

Edward Leavy joined the company in 1921 as a salesman after Eldrodt was no longer with the company.

1929

When Hofmann died in 1929, his family sold the company to Ed Leavy; the name was subsequently changed to Hofmann & Leavy.

1942

In 1942, after serving in World War II, Edward Leavy's son Jack joined the company.

1980

1985

When the bombing murders of 15 October 1985 were shown to be involved somehow with the sale of early Mormon history documents, the news interest was global.
