Holiday Market company history timeline

1962

Richard E. Morgan started the Holiday name in a small store on historic Front Street in Cottonwood, California in 1962.

1970

Saturday Market sold until Christmas every year including in 1970, when there were almost 200 members selling on the sidewalks around 10th and the Overpark.

1982

Permission was granted and in late November of 1982 the first markets were held in the southern blocks.

1984

An ambitious Christmas market was planned for 1984 with lighted, covered walkways for a wet 8-day week in mid-December.

1986

In October 1986 the "New Holiday Market" was announced for December 3rd-7th in the Auditorium building of the Fairgrounds.
