**Required Qualifications**
Experience: Prior retail and/or merchandising experience is required. Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Regardless of education level, FAST Team Members must be able to read, write and count accurately.

A Day In The Life * Operator will be required to set-up, operate, and to adjust machines and equipment in order to produce a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment are, but not limited to pultrusion, extrusion, scale, mixer, bandsaw, doweling machine, grinder, drill press, saw, sander, nailer and other departmental equipment.
* Processes performed will be, but not limited to, inspecting, mixing, extruding, grinding, sawing, weighing, crating, sanding, testing, and processing.
* Operator may be required to make visual and manual inspections, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required.
* Operator may be required to operate more than one machine at a time.
* Operator will be required to furnish own hand tools.
* Operator must have the ability to interpret drawings and routing sheets and perform SPC as required.
* Operator will be required to maintain machines, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
* Operator must ensure that any hazardous waste generated must be properly packaged and labeled before removing from his/her area.

* Ability to sit and/or stand and perform repetitive work for a minimum of eight hours.
* Ability to walk, hear, see and have full use of both hands.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and waist to floor.
* Ability to climb.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs. from waist to shoulder and carry a distance of 10 feet.
* Ability to lift in excess of 65 lbs.
* Ability to move containers up to 400 lbs. by using a two-wheel dolly.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Machine Operator, you'll set up and operate a variety of machinery that shapes and builds the core components of our products. From conventional machining to computer numerical control (CNC) systems, your skills will help power industries worldwide.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
* Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and NC/CNC machinery such as lathes, mills, grinders, shapers, and drill presses
* Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, manuals, and sketches to determine machining steps, tolerances, and dimensions
* Mark, measure, and prepare materials using layout tools to guide precision machining
* Install and align fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories for proper operation
* Calculate machining parameters and enter control settings or CNC commands to ensure accuracy
* Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments to address malfunctions or tolerance issues
* Perform in-process and final part inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments
* Assemble machined components into finished assemblies, ensuring correct alignment and function
* Conduct trial runs and test parts to validate machine setup and programming accuracy
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve design or machining issues
* Use welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal components (as needed)
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
* One to three months related experience and/or training in machining or mechanical work experience
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to read mechanical drawings and use measurement tools
* Basic math and spatial reasoning skills
* Completion of coursework in machining, manufacturing technology, or related technical program
* Familiarity with CNC programming or editing
* Welding experience or certification
* Experience developing or using jigs, fixtures, and shop aids
Travel & Working Environment
* Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
* Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
