POSITION SUMMARY
The Communications Field Supervisor oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of communication systems, such as fiber optics, telecommunications, and radio networks. They manage a team of technicians, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards. This role involves coordinating field activities, troubleshooting complex issues, and maintaining accurate records of all operations. The supervisor also ensures compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards, while providing leadership, training, and support to their team. Additionally, they may liaise with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met and to address any concerns that arise in the field.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Prioritize safety in all tasks and comply with company and client safety protocols
Champion EnerStar Core Values in all professional activities
Technical Lead and daily operation
Customer support for technical issues with housing, satellite, internet, cameras, and other communications equipment
Assist in new business development; Interface with other EnerStar management in Power Gen, Housing, Trucking, Head Office
Interface with Engineering group for R&D, site demonstrations, new technology deployment
Additional responsibilities: as identified and assigned
Use SW tools to keep track of team hours, vacations, and inventory
Assist technicians with installation, testing and troubleshooting issues
Work with vendors to keep equipment maintained up to date and in good repair
Oversee, support and train communications technicians
Ability to work in the field as needed
Work with internal Housing and Power generation groups to schedule and dispatch communications technicians to jobsites as needed
Responsibility to support and maintain and stock Communications equipment and consumables Oversee and help develop LTE, Satellite, Remote monitor solutions and technology
Keep upper management informed of Communications Group activities
Participate in other relevant tasks as assigned
Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by EnerStar Solutions.
Job Demands / Environment
Physical Requirements: This position involves frequent lifting (must be able to lift 50 pounds), bending, climbing, walking, standing for extended periods, and working in confined spaces. Candidates must have the physical ability to safely perform these tasks.
Medical Fitness: Due to the nature of the work and safety protocols, candidates must be medically fit to handle physically demanding tasks and work in varying environmental conditions. Pre-employment and periodic medical evaluations may be required.
Work Conditions: Outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind) and exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental factors is common.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Associates Degree preferred in a relevant field, such as telecommunications, electronics, or electrical engineering.
Technical Certifications in fiber optics (Certified Fiber Optic Technician), telecommunications, or networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+) are preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 4 + years of proven Communications Tech progressive career growth.

Ability to lead and support a group of technicians
Ability to deal with customer support issues in real time
Constantly display professional demeanor
Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
Technical skills in telecom, network design, cable or similar
Ability to make and rig up RJ-45, coaxial, LMR240, LMR400 cables and ends
Ability to learn to configure, deploy and support satellite systems for internet access
Ability to configure, deploy and support PTZ network camera systems
Ability to repair electronics equipment would be an asset
Ability to use Signal Finder to optimize antenna positioning for optimal signal strength
