The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires expertise in machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and quality control to ensure that all parts meet stringent specifications and tolerances. The CNC Machinist will collaborate with production teams, engineers, and quality control specialists to optimize machining operations and maintain the highest levels of efficiency and accuracy. Minimum required qualifications include High School Diploma or equivalent required. A 2-Year Technical Degree or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program required. Equivalent experience and on-the-job training may be considered in lieu of formal apprenticeship. 3-5 years of professional CNC machining experience required. Experience with CNC machinery and programming required. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical principles. Additional desirable qualifications include experience with Fanuc, Siemens 840D, and HAAS controls preferred. Strong understanding of different metal types and machining characteristics. Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and tools. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on CNC machinery, including Haas, FPT, VBM, and Toshiba. Perform first-article inspections and make necessary adjustments before full production runs. Specific Areas of Responsibility: Accurately read and interpret CNC programs, blueprints, and work instructions.Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes using provided programs, fixtures, and tool lists.Adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and quality output.Load raw materials and verify proper alignment before machining. Conduct machine warm-ups and complete all safety checks prior to operation. Perform in-process inspections to verify that parts meet specifications and tolerances. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges to inspect close tolerances and surface finishes. Document inspection results and report any deviations or defects. Ensure that finished parts conform to engineering drawings and quality standards. Identify and resolve programming errors, machine malfunctions, and tooling-related issues. Modify machine settings and optimize programs for efficiency and productivity. Continuously monitor operations and make real-time adjustments as needed. Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure accuracy in machining. Manage tools, assess tool life and wear, and utilize specialized tooling as required.Review daily job assignments and production schedules. Maintain accurate records of production output, scrap, and rework data. Ensure tools and equipment are properly calibrated and stored at the end of each shift. Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on process improvements. Report any mechanical issues or potential failures to the supervisor immediately. Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment. Essential Functions: * Lead, support, and works extensively on PowerPlan implementations, enhancements, upgrades, maintenance, ongoing resolution of errors and maintaining PowerPlan's integrations with other systems such as Maximo (Operation's work management system). * Manage user acceptance testing including creation, implementation, and maintenance of test use cases. * Key business partner with internal IT resources, outside technology contractors, internal IT project management office. * Creates, add, and maintain desktop documentation that supports the processes within plant accounting. * Understands other department technology project initiative's impact on the fixed asset accounting department while working together with IT in defining and developing agreed upon solutions. * Bridge the resource needs between fixed asset accounting and IT resources including project management. * Key fixed assets accounting resource to provide business processes knowledge and expertise in support of system implementations and sustaining activities. * Clearly articulate and translate business requirements to IT business partners ensuring business requirements are captured correctly and that nothing is lost in translation of those requirements. * Hands on involvement as key project participant in doing user acceptance testing, providing oversight, etc. * Provides leadership, oversight, day-to-day direction and recommendations to other team members, effectively driving change and championing continuous process improvements and special projects * Ability to effectively drive change and continuous improvements * Key subject matter expert, providing first line of support, providing training, developing and completing user acceptance testing, participate in cutover and deployment of upgrades and enhancements. * Effectively communicate with key leaders across the organization. * Update and maintain appropriate policies and procedures. * Experience working with SQL programming language. Required Skills: * Strong technical and analytical capabilities to lead and support implementations, enhancements, maintenance, testing, upgrades, and troubleshooting. * Extensive experience with system implementations, upgrades, maintenance, etc. * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including knowledge of Macro's/VBA. * Advanced data analytics capabilities. * Able to participle at multiples levels up to leadership level in taking initiative along with able to roll-up one's sleeves and getting involved at a very detailed level. Pays attention to the details. * Knowledge of regulated utilities operations and accounting. * Experience working with Microsoft BI Dashboards. Preferred Skills: * PowerPlan (Fixed asset System) * Maximo (Work Management System) * Workday (Enterprise Resource Planning System) Qualifications Required Background: * Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or; * Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience. * Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
