The CVOR RN is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, supporting the surgical team, and ensuring patient safety throughout the operative process.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare CVOR suites with sterile equipment and supplies according to the surgical procedure plan.
Circulate, scrub, or assist in cardiovascular surgeries such as CABG, valve replacements, aortic repairs, and other open-heart procedures.
Monitor patient condition intraoperatively and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams.
Ensure proper handling of surgical specimens, instruments, and devices.
Follow strict infection control and safety protocols throughout the operative and perioperative phases.
Document patient care activities, medications, and procedural notes accurately.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support continuity of care before and after surgery.
Qualifications
Active RN license in good standing.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in CVOR or cardiac surgery OR nursing.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR certification is a plus.
