General Statement of Job: This position, under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated student health care services within the School Health Program as Unlicensed Assistive Personnel. The primary function is to provide care during the school day to students for illness, injury, and medication administration. The duties include, but are not limited to first aid, medication administration, asthma, allergy, diabetes, seizure management, covid-19, and flu screening and testing. Employees in this position are responsible for performing delegated activities in compliance with procedures, protocols, and documented care plans. Essential Functions: Perform delegated Registered Nurse (RN) functions upon completion of training and competency testing. Consults and engages the Registered Nurse for direction on non-delegated tasks. Administers medications to students prescribed by a licensed health care provider with parental consent following established protocols and care plans. Provides first aid and injury care to students with urgent health needs according to procedures and protocols upon completion of training and competency testing. Assist students with diabetes management upon completion of training and competency testing. Maintain infection control and use of PPE as directed per School Health guidelines.
