Current national certification and DEA are required.

Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital - Hartford, Connecticut
A 45-bed hospital with inpatient psych, rehab, and privately rented LTAC.
5-6 admits per day on average and 2-3 admits per night on average.
Hospitalists run codes.
No procedures or vent management required.

Discuss and identify expectations, boundaries, and intentions with the client. This is often a general conversation entailing a loosely set-out plan to help avoid any surprises.
An ideal sitter is a listener rather than a talker. They are understanding, kind, and attentive through verbal and body language.
Assist in changing music, increase or decrease the volume depending on the needs of the client.
Assess the clients reaction to their environment and make changes to best suit their needs i.e. offer comfort by providing tissues, blankets, and cushions when and if needed.
Reassure the client about any fears or worries that have occurred during the session.
In the highly unlikely event of a medical emergency, the sitter will contact the nurse or physician who is immediately available in the other room.

Job Summary:
A Health Aide is a trained worker who, under the supervision of a registered professional nurse provides homemaking services and personal care services for an acutely or chronically ill client. Duties of the Home Health Aide are planned, assigned in writing and supervised regularly by the Home Health Aide Supervisor.

Special Requirements:
Must possess interest in and sympathetic attitude toward caring for the elderly.
Must maintain current, valid driver's license in good standing and automobile liability insurance in the amount of $100,000 to $300,000.
Physical Requirements:
Able to perform tasks involving physical activity, lift 50 pounds and transfer 150 pounds using proper body mechanics, extensive bending and standing, and climbing stairs. Must be able to endure prolonged periods of extended walking and stooping. Moderate periods of sitting and reaching. Occasional crouching, kneeling and balancing.
