CMA I Required Minimum Training and Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
CMA Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Must be certified through American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), National Association of Healthcare Professionals (NAHP), Medical Career Assessments (MedCA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP). Experienced Female Live-in Caregiver
We are helping a VA (Blue Ridge Mtn area) family to privately hire an experienced live-in who is willing and able to assist a male memory-care recipient who currently takes care of his own ADLs. He sleeps most nights soundly.
Interview by video. If you like each other, the family can contribute towards your transportation to get to them (drive or fly).
Position: Full-time live-in (Either 6 or 7 day live-in.)
Location: Dyke VA (Blue Ridge Mountain area)
Pay $2,000-$2,100 per week, depending on experience.
Requirements to apply
1. Two or more strong references from previous, live-in care clients. The references can not be from co-workers or supervisors. They must be from the family themselves.

Process:

2. Pass a 6-question phone screening interview with us.
3. Submit 2+ live-in care references that we can verify. If your live-in references are both very strong, you will move on to the next stage.
4. Have a Zoom interview with the family's recruiter. They are working to find the top 3 candidates for our client to interview.
5. Directly interview the family via Zoom. This is your time to shine and to ask questions about their specific needs and desired live-in schedule.
6. If they choose you, you will get a written job offer to consider. If you accept, you will need to move in with them by the start date (usually 2 weeks after being hired)
We do not employ or co-employ any live-in. We are 3rd party recruiters that specialize in fulfilling long-term live-in positions with families. The family is the employer and pays you directly through a payroll service. All pay is on the books as a W2 employee. You negotiate all terms/schedules/duties/pay with the family, not us.

Primary Responsibilities
Resident Services

• Adhere to each resident's Negotiated Service Plan and notify the Wellness Director, MOD, and/or the Executive Director of any changes in resident condition.
• Answer and respond immediately to resident calls.
• Seek assistance and advice from the Executive Director or the Wellness Director immediately if you have any doubts or questions when assisting with medications or treatments before you perform the assigned task.
• Assist with serving meals and supervise caregiver staff in the dining room. Ensure that dining room is cleaned after each meal service.
• Control the spread of infection by following standard precautions. Dispose of infectious and potentially infectious waste according to residence policy and procedures.
• Establish and maintain a good relationship with residents and their families.
• Respond to resident emergencies following the proper procedures.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a schedule for the caregiver staff that sufficiently meets the needs of residents and ensures proper staffing.
• Respond to on-the-job injuries in accordance with the Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures.
• Complete 16 hours of continuing education units (CEU) biennially specific to CMA's as outlined by the Alliant GMCF Registry. In addition 16 hours of CEU's must be completed annually.
• Lead by example, encourage teamwork, and promote the Oaks Senior Living philosophy. • Provide an "open door" to employees, addressing any concerns or grievances they may have.
• Maintain CPR & First Aid certification.
Medication Administration
• Follow the six 'rights" of medication assistance (right resident, right drug, right dosage, right time, right route, right record/documentation) each and every time assistance with a medication occurs. Check each of the six "rights" of medication assistance three different times: when the medication is taken out of the medication cart, immediately before assisting with the medication, and immediately after assisting with the medication
• Administer medications to residents according to their Medication Observation Record (MOR) and protect resident privacy. Provide residents with any treatments required as part of their Resident Care Plan as designated. Document clearly and accurately on the Medication Observation Record (MOR) after a medication is taken/given, refused, held, discontinued, changed, disposed of, returned, following the Oaks Senior Livening policy.
• Respect the residents' right to refuse medication/treatment. Protect the residents' safety with medications. Explain to the resident what medication is being given and why, prior to assisting with medication.
• Observe the resident for any adverse reaction to a medication and report it to the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director immediately. Report all medication errors honestly and immediately. Communications
• Attend all regular staff meetings and required in-service training sessions.
• Effectively communicate residents' needs with caregiver staff at change of shift according to the Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures. Effectively communicate to the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director any changes noted in a resident's condition or behavior, adverse reaction to a medication, any resident or family member concerns, complaints, refusal of a medication, any errors noted on the Medication Observation Record (MOR).

Job Duties: Provides direct care to patients through the following activities: * Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations * Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline * Initiates referrals to other health care provides, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician * Documents and bills for direct care provided * Utilizes current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice * Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research * Participates in and supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization * Demonstrates responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education * Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members * APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law * Manage care of assigned inpatient caseload within the DMS service and monitor treatment plans. Manage care of outpatients with diabetes, history of hyperglycemia, and related conditions. Utilize appropriate clinical and laboratory data to appropriately manage patients. Ensure that inpatient care documentation is within MUSC compliance and HIPAA directives. Responsible for outpatient clinics in MUSC outreach sites. This includes independent management of patient panels and treatment plans. * Positively represent the division through active participation to various projects and initiatives. Advocate our expertise to other services on campus and healthcare institutions by promoting the consulting and educational activities of the Diabetes Management Service. Participate with patient care team toward mastering Joint Commission goals. Physical Requirements Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces. Additional Job Description Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and two years clinical experience required, at least one year of which must have been in a specialty area of care. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner specific to the area of employment required unless a new graduate. New graduates must be certification eligible upon employment, and obtain certification within six months of employment. Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse and hold official recognition as a Nurse Practitioner from the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
