The purpose of the position is to serve, support and assist with meeting the residents' psychological, safety and quality of life needs. If you have a desire to help others, consider applying.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required
Job Duties:
+ Communicate the needs of the residents to the appropriate person(s)
+ Assists in promoting attendance to activities of residents and may assist in the activity as well as transportation to and from the activity
+ Provides emotional support to the residents in the form of listening, or sitting with confused or dying residents
+ Assists residents in writing letters, reading or transportation outside the facility
+ Works as a team player, will take direction from many sources
+ Aware of infection control protocols for handwashing, use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitization of work areas/high traffic areas
+ Assist in dining room. Takes orders, delivers room trays, and delivers plates and drinks as requested by the residents. Assists in clearing tables and setting tables.
+ Pass out clean towels and pick up dirty towels
+ Assist with nourishments/beverages
+ Answers call bells
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, as assigned.
+ Participate in all mandatory training and some voluntary training as directed. Minimum of 6 hours.
+ Attends meetings and trainings as directed
+ Runs errands for unit as directed
+ Informs Charge Person before leaving unit
+ Observes 30 minute break for meal and 15 minute break additionally and reports back to unit promptly
+ Reports daily to Charge Person for assignments, and after meals and break times
+ Follows appropriate chain of command through Charge Person, Care Manager and Director of Clinical Services
+ Makes beds for residents, turns down beds and retrieves bedding from laundry as needed and directed
+ Organizes residents' dresser drawers and closets, assures that personal clothing is neat and orderly for all residents, with resident's permission. Assist with personal laundry (pick up, processing and delivery)
+ Provides nail care consisting of polishing, when requested by staff or resident
+ Takes initiative during shift
+ Asks HHAs and/or nurses - "What can I do to help you?"- offer assistance when designated duties are complete
+ Accompanies select residents to appointments as directed
+ Observe privacy and confidentiality rights of residents. DOES NOT discuss resident issues/problems off unit
