Summary:
The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab RN plays a key role treating patients with heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and cardiac arrhythmias. Working alongside electrophysiologists, they assist with arrhythmia ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implants, and medication-based treatments. The EP Lab RN is responsible for patient assessments, procedural support, conscious sedation, and post-procedure monitoring to ensure safe, effective care.
Essential Work Functions:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findings accurately
Educate patients and families on electrophysiology procedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care to ensure understanding and informed consent
Assist physicians with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations
Administer medications, including conscious sedation, per physician orders
Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures
Identify and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipment preparation, setup, and troubleshooting to support seamless procedural workflow
Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans
Provide immediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Summary:
The Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. The RN prepares patients for procedures, assists during interventions, and monitors immediate post-procedure recovery. Working closely with cardiologists and cath lab teams, this role requires advanced cardiac care skills, cardiac catheterization skills, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards.
Essential Work Functions:
Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams
Assist in positioning patients correctly for the procedure and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are properly placed
Assist physicians during procedures, including the placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other cardiac interventions
Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to the appropriate recovery area
Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedure
Support post-procedure care, including monitoring patient recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of care
Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked for procedures

OB Flex Team - Registered Nurse Opportunities
The OB Flex Team provides support across various obstetric and women's services, offering a unique opportunity to care for patients throughout the perinatal continuum. Nurses in this team play a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and family-centered care.
Preferred Experience:
• 4 years of total nursing experience
• At least 2 of those years must include experience in one or more of the following:
o OB Triage
o Labor & Delivery
o Postpartum
o Antepartum
o High-Risk Women's Services, including GYN and antepartum OB patients
o Mother-Baby Unit (couplet care)
o Newborn Transition Nurse caring for the newly delivered newborn

Position Requirements
At least 1 year of recent critical care experience (within the past 5 years) in a specialty such as SICU, MICU, ICU, PACU, Cath Lab, Bronch, ER, or Stepdown.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (CCNE or ACEN).
Proof of unrestricted RN license from a U.S. jurisdiction.
Valid BLS certification (required for all departments).
ACLS certification required for SICU, IMCU, CCU, ICU, Stepdown, ER, PACU, and SACC roles.
Please do not submit candidates who do not meet these specialty requirements (e.g., LTAC RNs for ICU roles).
No visible tattoos, artificial nails, eyelashes, piercings, or gauges are permitted (per VA Quality Assurance guidelines).
Resume must show no employment gaps in the past 5 years.
Must pass a drug test prior to starting.
Potential start date of December 1.
Scheduling Best Practices
Monthly schedule opens 2nd Monday; supply your availability within 10 days.
A minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week required (with occasional opportunities for a fourth shift).
Four weekend shifts per month are required (could be two full weekends or any arrangement that totals four shifts). If you call out for a weekend shift, the VA will automatically assign you to work the following weekend.
Schedules are finalized by VA staff to ensure coverage and fairness.

Compensation
$56.36/hour plus $5.09/hour Health & Welfare (H&W) stipend
