The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations.
· Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
· Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre - during - post hemodialysis treatment for assigned patients and documents in the patient medical record, makes adjustments or modifications to treatment plan as indicated and notifies Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Supervisor or Physician as needed.
· Assesses, collaborates, and documents patient/family's basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family.
· Directs and provides, in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff, all aspects of the daily provision of safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients.
· Administers medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s), and documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness.
· Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
· Serves as a resource for health care team, participates in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned.
· Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures are performed and reschedules missed or insufficient laboratory collections.
· Identifies expected outcomes, documents and updates the nursing assessment and plan of care for assigned patients through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
· Ensures patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options.
· Required to complete CAP requirements to advance.
· Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced OR Nurse in a NEW ambulatory surgery center in Oshkosh. This is a four-operating-room and two-procedural-room facility that is a partnership between ThedaCare and the surgeons in the region. This center will have a diverse mix of case types that include general surgery, endoscopy, gynecology, ENT, podiatry, spine, and pain cases. The center will look to add additional service lines over time. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication skills and team-building skills. ASC experience is preferred. Key Accountabilities and Core Job Functions:
* Utilizes the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develops a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the patient and interprofessional team.
* Plans for the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.
* Demonstrates clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, and performs all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN), which are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.
* Identifies ways to improve the patient's experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.
* Contributes to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.
* Provides consultation and maintains positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care.

Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years. Associate's Degree in Nursing accepted in lieu of BSN for those hired prior to 1/23/17.
* Current Wisconsin RN Licensure American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
Cardiology Department:
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
* Two years clinical experience preferred preferably in Cardiology
* Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation

The Float B registered nurse is responsible for rotating duties between the community, the Meng Residence and the Triage department depending on staffing needs. This includes completing skilled nursing assessments within the community or at the Meng Residence as well as providing safe and effective telephone advice, care instructions and directions to the appropriate level of care. The Float B nurse works collaboratively with the primary care teams, interdisciplinary team and schedule coordinators to achieve high quality patient standards.
PRN Requirements: Must work a minimum of 32 hours per month, at least one holiday per year, and weekends as determined by the leader/designee based on departmental need.
Hours: Will work either 8- or 12-hour shifts ranging between the hours of 3 pm and 8 am.
Key Job Duties:
Provide skilled nursing assessment and appropriate intervention
Update the plan of care as necessary and review care plans with patient and family
Respond to urgent patient/family needs in collaboration with triage nursing staff
Initiate crisis care as needed
Report appropriate findings and significant changes to the primary team, attending physician and primary caregiver
Provide education to patient/family members on disease progression, symptom management, medication and other associated patient care needs
Administer and titrate medication according to physician/nurse practitioner orders
Mange individual patient medication and Residence contingency medications
Record all received orders to the Electronic Medical Record and initiate follow up as needed
Prioritize daily work and make adjustments taking into account the needs of patients, Unity and other staff

Delegate nursing duties to LPN and supervise care provided by CNA
Complete new patient admissions as needed

Holiday Requirements: Must be available to work at least 1 major holiday & 1 minor holiday.
1 on call week/weekend every 6 weeks (on call days do not have to be consecutive).
Floating Requirements: No floating, but YES will do both home health & hospice visits.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Solid color scrubs (no patterns or logos unless company-issued). Closed-toe, non-slip shoes with socks or hosiery. No flip-flops, open toe shoes, or sandals allowed in any patient care area.
