As a Level III NICU, Northridge Hospital provides advanced treatment for seriously ill, low birth weight, and premature infants, including micropreemies. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our exceptional NICU team. As a Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be a key leader in assessing the needs of patients and families, planning and implementing evidence-based nursing care, and evaluating outcomes. You will leverage your advanced knowledge and clinical expertise to optimize nursing practice through direct patient care, clinical staff development, consultation, and research.

Develop and implement evidence-based standards of care, ensuring exceptional quality and optimal patient outcomes in the NICU.

Identify and address the educational needs of families and staff, creating and delivering engaging educational programs and materials.
Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new employees and students, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
Research and evaluate new equipment and technologies to enhance patient care, communicating findings to the Department Manager.
Participate in the review, development, and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices.
Identify researchable clinical nursing problems, disseminate research findings, and evaluate the impact of programs and interventions.
Actively participate in the Quality Improvement Process, driving continuous improvement in patient care and nursing practice.
Participate in the development of NICU goals, coordinate programs and projects, and provide input into the NICU budget.
Ensure that NICU goals and projects reflect system-wide strategic objectives.
Direct clinical nursing practice in the NICU, ensuring adherence to best practices and optimal patient outcomes. Coordinate and assess critical care education development and clinical competency of the nursing staff in the NICU.

Job Requirements
Minimum 3 years full-time of clinical experience in neonatal nursing in a NICU that is equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU.
RN licensed by the State of California holding a Master's and/or doctoral degree in Nursing
CNS licensed by the State Board of Registered Nursing as a CNS.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
Have a Current certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a nationally accredited organization i.e., NCC or the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) or certified by AACN as a Neonatal CNS required.
Have evidence of current instructor status by the NRP of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the AHA.
Current BLS ACLS from the American Heart Association Required.

About the Role:The Clinical Practice Liaison (CPL) builds and maintains clinical/scientific relationships with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and other health care professionals, to communicate and advance Neurocrine's scientific position in alignment with Medical Affairs strategy. This role supports educational outreach including disease state pathophysiology, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment options focusing on, but not limited to, Community Mental Health Centers (CMHC). The territory includes all of Hawaii, and a portion of California that includes Fresno south to Los Angeles including most of Los Angeles County. The ideal candidate will be a skilled NP, PA or DNP with psych-neuro experience and live in the LA County area or in CA near a major airport hub.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
Develop and maintain strong clinical/scientific integrity with local, regional, and national advanced practice KOLs plus other HCPs as appropriate to facilitate meaningful scientific discussions
Identify knowledge gaps across diverse clinical practice settings and provider types to provide appropriate scientific education
Effectively educate across a continuum that includes disease state, diagnosis and evidence-based treatment aligned with Medical Affairs' scientific narrative
Partner with national and state professional organizations to support education
Stay current in latest literature and research within therapeutic area to enable meaningful clinical/scientific interactions
Identify and recommend research opportunities and project sites
Serve as a scientific resource and trainer for internal Neurocrine teams
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment with initiatives
Attend and provide insights from relevant medical congresses

Requirements:
Master's degree, NP, CNS, PA or equivalent and 4+ years of similar experience noted above OR
PhD, DNP, or PharmD degree and 2+ years of similar experience noted above

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $160,900.00-$220,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
