Individual reports to Director/designee. Job Standards A high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years related work experience required. Essential Functions * Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; * Individual observes and documents sanitary sewer and manhole installation on non-complex residential sewer construction projects; * Individual observes and documents sanitary sewer testing including, but not limited to, air and hydrostatic tests to detect leakage, pipe deflection testing, soil compaction testing, and concrete testing; * Observes and documents repairs performed on sewers and manholes under warranty; * Performs inspections in basements of buildings under construction for practices that are detrimental to the County's system; * Investigates illegal sewer connections and reports to Sanitary Engineer or designated staff; * Matches construction plans with cut sheets; * Inspects mainline sewer, laterals, force mains, and air release valves; * Performs confined space entries into sanitary structures for measurement and inspection; * Assists with final inspections of residential sewer construction; * Measures manholes and wyes for horizontal locations and elevations; * Locates and marks DCRSD sewers and force mains as required by prospective land users, contractors and OUPS; * Assists in investigating various complaints from residents and companies; * Prepares permits drawn with clear and concise details for sewer taps of new homes and commercial buildings; * Interprets blueprints and discusses deviation from specification and ensures compliance with County regulations; * Attends various training sessions, video conferences, and workshops. * Performs typing, word processing, and related computer operations; * Works overtime and outside of typical work schedule/business hours as required; and * Other duties as assigned. RESPONSIBILITIES: X-ray wax patterns. Will be a liaison to Engineering regarding wax wall and x-ray wax patterns and cores. Provide feedback to Engineering to prevent wall excursions and core break. Perform x-ray and wax wall on a full-time basis. Keep the work area in a clean, orderly, and safe working condition. Observe all safety requirements and wear proper required PPE at all times Properly identify your work performed in Lot Control and affix required identification. Keep the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe working condition. Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Perform all other duties assigned by supervision. QUALIFICATIONS: Will be required to go through on-site certification training and will be required to maintain certification Must possess good interpersonal and communications skills. Proven track record working in a team environment. Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency of applicable procedure instructions. REQUIREMENTS: Meet or exceed defined Visual Acuity (when required). Meet color perception standards needed in performance of job requirements (when required). Additional training to comply with applicable SOP/Certifications (when required).
