As a Field Service Technician, you will provide post-sales support for Infinity windows and doors, ensuring every customer receives an outstanding experience. You'll be the trusted expert who resolves service issues, communicates professionally, and represents Marvin's commitment to quality.

This is a combined job description for a Field Service Technician cross trained in all scopes; firestopping, doors, and dampers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Firestopping
Inspect & repair fire/smoke barriers per NFPA/IBC/UL requirements.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and life safety drawings.
Document inspection and repair results in electronic reporting system using a tablet.
Provide accurate and detailed documentation for customers' code compliance.
Document repairs that cannot be completed, obtain and record specifications for materials to be ordered.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing components.
Install access doors in rated assemblies.
Hang & Repair drywall.
Installation and repair of wall assemblies. (Metal Framing & Repair if Gypsum and Masonry Construction)
Load and unload project materials and equipment.
Complete prep work for all applications.
Use common hand tools such as hammers, knives, chisels, pliers, screwdrivers, saws, drills, etc…
Properly maintain equipment and tools.
Follow safety & Infection control guidelines and procedures.
Ensure clean job site.

Provide accurate documentation for customers' code compliance and reporting.
Maintain professional, timely communication with customers and Remedi8 management and team.

Doors
Inspection of fire-rated and smoke doors per NFPA 80.
Successfully complete Remedi8's training for Fire Door Inspection as outlined in Remed8's ISO 17020:2012 certification requirements.
Ensure completion of accurate reports for customer code compliance.
Maintain professional, timely communication with customers prior to and following projects.
Perform minor repair of fire door frames, doors, locksets, latches, closers, strike plates, miscellaneous door and frame hardware and material to bring up to code requirements.
Perform repairs in ordinance with NFPA 80, NFPA 105 and the IBC standards for fire door performance.
Fill holes in frames/doors.
Shim to correct clearances.
Clean/install closers and hardware to fix latching and closing issues.
Establish plan of action for door replacement through facilities in a time efficient manner.
Document repairs that are not able to be completed, obtain and record specifications for hardware to be ordered.
Provide accurate documentation for customers' code compliance.
Work with hand tools (drill, screws, screwdriver, tap & dye sets, Bondo, sander, etc.)
Administer proper infectious control measures per hospital requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Assemble custom computers sold by our expert build-your-own (BYO) sales team
Understand and utilize technical manuals and support resources while maintaining appropriate technical certifications and vendor certifications, while keeping up to date on retail products and current technologies
Maintain a cash till, handle customer transactions, and maintain the department by ensuring a clean work area is maintained and inventory is accurately tracked
Provide timely, complete, and accurate information directly to customers via face-to-face, telephone, text, and email communication regarding their service event on a constant basis
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent with one-year related computer service repair or technical customer service experience strongly preferred
CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT and ACiT certifications, or the ability to be certified within 90 days of hire. *Apple certifications highly desirable

PURPOSE
The primary purpose of the position is to provide direct on-site emergency service, preventive maintenance and installation support to end user customers while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The position is also responsible for assisting in reaching Service Zone Revenue targets with work group sales responsibilities ranging from 1 to 2 MM dollars and to communicate product sales opportunities to Sales and Applications team's members as needed. Willingness to acquire and use sales skills is a must. Difficulties include extensive travel (50000 to 75000 driving miles per year), working with contaminated products, exposure to X-rays and Magnetic fields, sick patients and the need to lift heavy equipment (over 50lbs). Typical work week approaches 50 hrs and on-call duty as needed by Zone Service manager. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations at end user customer sites using approved Bayer documentation;
* Schedule and organize own work activities, ensure efficient operations;
* Organize and re-order inventory valued at $20K to ensure quality work and low incident of defective or incomplete on-site customer visits;
* Responsible for proper return of all defective inventory for replenishment;
* Price service calls, offering discounts or converting to full contracts when needed;
* Generate service revenue of up to $500K in given work group (Individual revenue responsibilities may vary);
* Prepare and develop sales quotes and follows through to close the sale. Call end-user customers, purchasing agents and Bayer dealers to finalize and ask for the order;
* Interfaces heavily with Service Admin/MSRC billing processors to ensure proper & timely invoicing. Responsible to assist in collection activities within a given territory;
* In some cases, generates customer interest and communicates to Service Marketing Rep;
* Generates and communicates sales leads to respective sales rep for new product or disposable opportunities;
* Maintain company car, oil changes, tire rotation, etc. and tools in good working order valued at $35-$45K;
* Ensure all proprietary info is safe guarded from non-Bayer personnel, includes: Service & Training Manuals, Diagnostic and Calibration software, BIT keys, ect.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Associate's Degree in Electronics, IT Networking, Computer Science or relevant discipline required with 2 years of applicable experience or Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline;
* Equivalent Military Experience/ Training in areas such as Electronics, Aviation, IT, Computer Science or relevant training with 2 years of applicable experience can be considered in lieu of degree;
* Technical trade skills in areas such as, soldering, electrical installation & troubleshooting;
* Prior experience in a customer facing role;
* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced self-directed environment;
* Good verbal and written competencies; along with flexibility and good judgment;
* Ability to prioritize workload and tasks to maximize revenue;
* Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite & comfortability in using company specific databases and CRM systems;
* Ability to travel within assigned territory and nationally, at times overnight and extended time periods;

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting to customers at the service counter on a variety of computers, computer-related equipment and other retail products sold in the store
* Recommend various service solutions including, but not limited to, data backups, anti-virus, extended warranties, and support subscriptions
* Identify, diagnose, and document hardware failure(s) or software problems on a variety of electronic devices including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, mobile phones, TVs, and monitors
* Assemble custom computers sold by our expert build-your-own (BYO) sales team
* Understand and utilize technical manuals and support resources while maintaining appropriate technical certifications and vendor certifications, while keeping up to date on retail products and current technologies
* Maintain a cash till, handle customer transactions, and maintain the department by ensuring a clean work area is maintained and inventory is accurately tracked
* Provide timely, complete, and accurate information directly to customers via face-to-face, telephone, text, and email communication regarding their service event on a constant basis
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
* High School diploma or equivalent with one-year related computer service repair or technical customer service experience strongly preferred
* CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT and ACiT certifications, or the ability to be certified within 90 days of hire. *Apple certifications highly desirable
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills combined with ability to multi-task and adjust priorities
* Physical requirements: lift up to 50 lbs., stand for prolonged periods of time
* Shifts include hours before and after the store is open to the public and may also include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays

+ Ability to perform and interpret vehicle health scans using both factory and non-factory tools.

+ Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, to explain technical findings.
