POSITION DESCRIPTION The School Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) program seeks to improve the lives of youth, their families, and the community through partnering with local school communities to extend the school day to improve children's educational success and family stability. Latino Network manages eight SUN Community Schools where we offer extended day services for students, families, and the school community. WORK ENVIRONMENT Latino Network is a fast-paced, highly engaged work environment with satellite operations within Multnomah County. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Extended Day Programming: Assist SUN Community Site Manager with daily program operation when needed. Teach extended-day enrichment and academic classes at least 2-3 times a week. Cover classes. Assist with any food pantry distribution as needed. Take daily attendance and insert into data system regularly. Assist in creating classes in Grouptrail database system in between programming. Effectively work with individuals of diverse backgrounds. Assist with outreach on days there are no classes to teach: phone calls home, flyers, enrollment packets. Actively develop rapport with students, staff, and families. Provide a safe and secure environment for participants by aligning with Reynolds School District, Portland Public School District, and Latino Network policy. Work with students needing behavioral support. Attend and complete trainings required for position.
