Position Overview:
The HVAC Service Technician ensures the proper operation and performance of customers' heating/air conditioning systems in a residential environment. Identify, repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems; providing necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment; and ensuring adequate materials are available and on-hand to perform all necessary service.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinates with Dispatch and management team to ensure work orders are accurately received and attended to in a timely manner based upon established goals and service standards.
* Diagnoses malfunctions of heating/air conditioning/systems and/or components in residential HVAC units for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems.
* Repairs heating/air conditioning systems and related equipment and/or components (e.g. unit heaters, pumps, safety controls, valves, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring operation of equipment.
* Manage repair costs while minimizing inefficiencies.
* Achieve all first-time fixes, productivity, customer service and other performance goals in a consistent manner.
* Maintains tools, supplies and/or equipment (e.g. torches, cutters, drills, test equipment, filters, control components, fan blades, gaskets, seals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items and equipment is in safe operating condition.
* Manage and maintain appropriate inventory ensuring availability of required parts and equipment on an ongoing basis.
* Repairs various items, systems and/or components (e.g., air conditioning systems, heating units such as: steam boilers, forced hot water, and hot air systems.) for the purpose of providing renovation and preventive maintenance of heating/air conditioning.
* Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
* Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
* Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
* Must be able to work independently and have good customer communication skills.

Job Requirements:
* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
* Strong HVAC experience in residential areas preferred.
* Universal EPA Certification with 1-3 years' experience preferred.
* Ability to speak, write, and read English.
* Ability to work independently.
* Valid Driver's License.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
* Strong HVAC and plumbing experience in residential and light commercial areas including but not limited to steam, hot water, warm air, high efficiency, hot water storage, radiant systems, tank-less systems, ductless a/c, and package units.
* Must be familiar with and able to utilize electronic equipment, including, but not limited to a computer, for the purposes of queries and accurate data entry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. To perform routine repairs and provide preventative maintenance on all heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment located in campus buildings, dormitories, townhouses, apartment complex and the Central Utilities Facilities complex. This involves:
Maintaining air handling units with filter replacements, pneumatic controls, exhaust fans, etc.
Familiarity with and ability to read electrical and mechanical Drawings.
Familiarity with low voltage controls and motor controls; familiarity with DDC controls (e.g., Alterton and Carrier Comfortworks),
Ensuring the adequate operation, temperature, pressure and safety of equipment,
Notifying supervisor of any abnormal pressures and temperatures before adjusting.
Interacting with contractors as needed.
2. Assist on installations of new or repaired equipment utilizing knowledge of electrical and mechanical techniques.
3. To be responsible for the cleanliness and safety of equipment rooms in designated buildings.
4. To complete appropriate documentation. This involves:
Assessing and completing requisitions on supplies needed for servicing,
Maintaining and logging accurate records on malfunctions and repairs.
5. To provide backup support if the Associate Director of Energy Services and the Supervisor, HVAC are absent.
6. To interact with the Associate Director of Energy Services and the Supervisor HVAC on major equipment problems and recommending corrective action.
7. To participate in the growth and development of the department. This involves:
Participating in regularly scheduled staff meetings and attending seminars as needed,
Promoting an image of efficiency and courtesy throughout the university community and consistent with the department's mission.
Providing recommendations on system modifications, upgrades, policies and procedures.
8. To promote safe and secure working conditions. This involves:

1. 3. Possess a basic knowledge of facility HVAC systems such as chillers, boilers, air handling equipment, piping, pumps, and other components. Have a reasonably competent ability to identify failures, potential failures, hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or repair. Monitor performance of site HVAC related equipment and inform management of potential problems.
4. Possess the ability to reasonably analyzes and troubleshoot HVAC equipment and / or system deficiencies and problems. Replace defective parts, re-assemble affected equipment, and tests for proper operation, and return to service.
5. Perform preventive maintenance (PM's) as scheduled on facility HVAC equipment as required by the site recurring computerized maintenance management program (CMMP) (changing filters, belts, and lubrication, etc.).
6. Possess a reasonably competent ability to read, and comprehend facility drawings, schematics, related to the HVAC structure of the site.
7. Possess a reasonable basic knowledge of maintaining an on-site water treatment program. Responsibilities entail periodic testing of boiler and cooling tower water quality and maintaining the water treatment chemical inventory in conjunction with the sites water treatment contractor.
8. Ability to work effectively with outside vendors, contractors when necessary to resolve HVAC equipment or HVAC system problems. Confer with other contracted or in-house trades to assist in resolving site HVAC related problems or equipment malfunctions.
9. Maintain necessary work records including equipment records, logs, and time sheets as required.
10. Have basic experience with, and or knowledge of an organized company lock-out / tag-out program. (Compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 control of hazardous energy).
11. Ability to operate and manipulate a boomed manlift (JLG, Genie Lift) is highly desirable.
Skills, Education, Requirements, and Experience:
Must possess a current & valid driver's license.
Possession of a stationary engineer's (boiler operators) license from any US state or legally recognized municipality is highly desirable, but not required.
Possession of an EPA refrigerant certification of any type is desirable. Must be able and willing to obtain an EPA refrigerant certification within first 24 months of employment if no certification is currently held.
Possession of a NYSDEC 7G pesticide certification is highly desirable. Must be able and willing to obtain a NYSDEC 7G pesticide certification within first 24 months of employment if no certification is currently held.

Your New Role
As an HVACTechnician in Southampton, PA, you'll serve customers within a 20-mile radius, including the areas of Camden and Bensalem, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating and cooling systems. You'll be the go-to expert for troubleshooting furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems. Whether it's a quick tune-up or a complex repair, you'll take pride in doing the job right the first time. Never sell anything to a customer they don't want or need.

Your New Role
As a Lead HVACInstaller based in Manhattan and the NYC boroughs, your responsibilities will include:
Installing and starting up HVAC systems, including ductless mini splits, VRF systems, central air, and heating systems

Position Overview:
The HVAC Service Technician ensures the proper operation and performance of customers' heating/air conditioning systems in a residential environment. Identify, repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems; providing necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment; and ensuring adequate materials are available and on-hand to perform all necessary service.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates with Dispatch and management team to ensure work orders are accurately received and attended to in a timely manner based upon established goals and service standards.
Diagnoses malfunctions of heating/air conditioning/systems and/or components in residential HVAC units for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems.
Repairs heating/air conditioning systems and related equipment and/or components (e.g. unit heaters, pumps, safety controls, valves, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring operation of equipment.
Manage repair costs while minimizing inefficiencies.
Achieve all first-time fixes, productivity, customer service and other performance goals in a consistent manner.
Maintains tools, supplies and/or equipment (e.g. torches, cutters, drills, test equipment, filters, control components, fan blades, gaskets, seals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items and equipment is in safe operating condition.
Manage and maintain appropriate inventory ensuring availability of required parts and equipment on an ongoing basis.
Repairs various items, systems and/or components (e.g., air conditioning systems, heating units such as: steam boilers, forced hot water, and hot air systems.) for the purpose of providing renovation and preventive maintenance of heating/air conditioning.
Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
Must be able to work independently and have good customer communication skills.

Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Strong HVAC experience in residential areas preferred.
Universal EPA Certification with 1-3 years' experience preferred.
Ability to speak, write, and read English.
Ability to work independently.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Strong HVAC and plumbing experience in residential and light commercial areas including but not limited to steam, hot water, warm air, high efficiency, hot water storage, radiant systems, tank-less systems, ductless a/c, and package units.
Must be familiar with and able to utilize electronic equipment, including, but not limited to a computer, for the purposes of queries and accurate data entry.
