Job Summary:
The Senior Inspector is primarily responsible for inspecting and recording dimensions of aerospace components. Ensuring product and certification conformance to blueprint and customer specifications. This role verifies manufacturing first piece for conformance to controlled documentation as well as suppliers conformance to purchase order requirements and controlled documentation. Supports manufacturing associates in solving dimensional verification issues and acts as the company resource for all departments regarding inspection methodology, technique, gaging and process specification interpretation.
Essential Job Duties:
Performs layout inspection on all levels of manufactured parts.
Using knowledge of best quality practices and manufacturing methods, ensures manufactured parts meet blueprint, operation sheet, or other specification requirements.
Prioritizes job assignments within quality inspection area.
Interacts with all levels of associates regarding quality issues.
Verify rejections prior to submitting to quality clinic.
Liaison between Quality and Engineering to facilitate communication and activity.
Performs all the responsibilities of a Quality Inspector.
Responsible for creation of documentation related to FAI forms and submission as required, creation of Inspection Method Sheet (IMS) forms and perform duties related.
Perform full inspections; ability to conduct first piece inspections.
Inspect and record dimensions per process sheets, inspection reports, blueprints and any other applicable documentation.
Review process certifications.
Visual and dimensional inspection.
Utilize appropriate micrometers, calipers, gages and other inspection equipment as required.
Work to resolve customer issues.
Work with internal teams to resolve any technical issues.
Ability to work both independently, utilizing good judgement and as a team.

Experience & Skills:
A.S. degree in related engineering or technical discipline or equivalent experience.

DQR for PW, GE, PWC is a plus.
Experience with GE Aviation, Raytheon Technologies (Collins Aerospace/Pratt & Whitney Aircraft), and other aerospace OEM customers is required.
Understanding of First Article Inspection Reports (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) reports. ECAV reports and submissions.

Essential Job Duties:
Conduct security, quality and EH&S audits to ensure the safety of employees on the second shift, and compliance with company and customer policies.
Coordinate time-off requests, with attention to skills matrix, to ensure adequate staffing level across all disciplines of machine centers to meet production needs.

Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 10 years progressive career in the manufacturing of precision machined components in a regulated industry such as aerospace or medical. Previous experience in a high mix, low volume shop with an emphasis on lean manufacturing preferred.
Working knowledge of ISO/AS quality standards, basic OSHA/EHS safety regulations, and a commitment to adherence of company policies.
Advanced or expert machining skills in 1 or more disciplines. Swiss lathe, multi-axis turning, turning, milling, or grinding. Must be able to independently set-up and operate CNC equipment and provide the necessary training to others on shift.
Experience leading and managing a small team toward common goals. An effective communicator that can build rapport with a diverse team. Previous team lead experience preferred.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this position are:
Enable new customer design wins through early integration Engineering Support.

Be the first escalation contact to the Business unit for customer complaints and support.
Customer Visits

Train Coherent Personnel on CO2 products.

Coordinate tracking of trained personnel with the Corporate Training team. Monitor who is trained and identify needs for retraining.
Train personnel at Field and Contact Centers.
Drive creation of training materials, including course syllabi, training manuals, Integration Manuals, Service Manuals, Instructor Manuals, etc.
Owner of Installation Manual, Service Manual, Installation Checklists
Drive creation and maintenance of selected product documentation related to the integration and service of CO2products as part of New Product integration Process.
Owner of driving maintenance of released manuals utilize corporate resources.
Provide customer communications on new product (PIBs), changes, and Field issues (FSBs)
Provide data analysis support to the Service and Product Marketing teams to enable decision making. Data includes structured and unstructured data such as service events, installation base, pricing, customer feedback, and more.
Represent the voice of the customer regarding laser use, installation and maintenance on New Product Development teams.

BS/MS Technical Degree or equivalent degree.
