    Job Description About the Role: The Part-Time Hospital Chaplain at Wooster Community Hospital plays a vital role in providing spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families during times of crisis, illness, and recovery. The chaplain collaborates closely with the healthcare team to address the spiritual needs of patients, integrating spiritual care into the overall treatment plan. By offering presence, prayer, reflection, and support the chaplain helps individuals navigate spiritual care needs. This role requires a dedicated professional who can work 20 hours per week, balancing sensitivity with professionalism to enhance the well-being of the hospital community. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in divinity theology, or Pastoral Counseling from an accredited institution. Endorsement or ordination from a recognized faith group. Completion of at least 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an ACPE-accredited program. Minimum 2 years of experience in pastoral care, preferably in a healthcare setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment Must demonstrate emotional maturity, empathy, and resilience in high stress situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in patient care. Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) or equivalent credential. Experience working in a hospital or acute care environment. Familiarity with diverse religious traditions and cultural competency training. Training in grief, trauma response, or end-of-life care. Responsibilities: Provide respectful, nonjudgmental spiritual care and support to patients, families, and hospital staff alike. Conduct bedside visits, offer prayer, and facilitate religious rituals or sacraments as requested or appropriate. Respect and accommodate diverse religious, cultural, and personal beliefs within the hospital community. Collaborate and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, to integrate spiritual care into patient care plans as appropriate. Respond to crisis situations, including end-of-life care, bereavement, and trauma support. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of chaplaincy visits and interventions in compliance with hospital policies. Skills: Effective communication skills with patients and families from diverse backgrounds, to provide empathetic and culturally sensitive spiritual care. Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and comfort during vulnerable moments. Active listening skills to support spiritual and emotional needs. Collaboration skills to facilitate working within interdisciplinary teams. Advanced pastoral education and certification to enhance the chaplain's ability to address complex situations requiring pastoral or spiritual care. Daytime, Monday through Friday. Typical start time is 10:30 a.m.; however, some flexibility is required based on department needs. 4 hours per day; 20 hours per week
