Dr. Bryan T. Kelly is the Surgeon-in-Chief and Medical Director for the Hosptial for Special Surgery, and the Chairman of Orthopaedics at Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is a specialist in sports medicine injuries and arthroscopic and open surgical management of non-arthritic disorders around the hip. He has a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College and medical staff appointments at Hospital for Special Surgery and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He cares for several sports teams serving as Head Team Physician and Medical Director for the New York Rangers, Head Orthopedic Consultant for UFC, and Associate Team Physician for the New York Giants.

Dr. Kelly was the Chief of the Sports Medicine Institute at HSS from 2014-2019 prior to his appointment as Surgeon-in-Chief, and continues to serve as the Co-Director and founder of the Center for Hip Preservation which is designed to provide multi-disciplinary care for patients at all levels with hip injuries. He has a broad range of both clinical and basic science research interests including the development of a clinical outcomes registry; biomechanical studies evaluating conflict patterns in femoroacetabular impingement and techniques in labral refixation; development of synthetic scaffolds for labral reconstruction and cartilage injuries in the hip; and the development of novel surgical techniques for managing soft tissue injuries around the hip joint. He has authored over 190 scientific publications, chapters, review articles, and books.
