We are seeking an experienced bioinformatician for the Tisch Cancer Center Bioinformatics for Next Generation Sequencing (BiNGS) shared resource facility, to lead transcriptomics and epigenetics data analysis projects in Cancer biology. The mission of BiNGS is to enhance scholarship and facilitate NGS data analysis in the ISMMS community by providing access to state-of-the-art tools and training. The BiNGS staff support a broad range of bioinformatics analyses for multiple applications spanning bulk ATAC-, RNA-, and ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN and HiC, single cell ATAC- and RNA-seq, single cell Multiome and Spatial Transcriptomics, WGS and WES. BiNGS further provides services for data management, bioinformatics tools development, access to biocomputing resources, web-based app development, and advanced computational training in data analysis. We are focused on delivering a comprehensive, rapid and user-friendly service.
More specifically, we are working on multiple projects together with PIs in the Tisch Cancer Center and the broader Mount Sinai community to analyze NGS related datasets. For example, we are working to understand the role of RAS mutations in the development of Leukemia utilizing single cell RNA- and ATAC-seq; understand the role of histone variants in cancer development utilizing enhancers analysis, transcriptomic analysis, open chromatin analysis and transcription factor network analysis; in another project, we are utilizing bulk and single cell, and spatial transcriptomics to understand breast cancer metastasis to bone. Finally, we are utilizing FIBER-seq (third generation PacBio long read sequencing), to better understand how chromatin remodelers shape the chromatin landscape.
We are seeking a highly motivated senior Bioinformatic Scientist who wants the opportunity to significantly impact the growth and success of our research programs, the bioinformatics core and the services we provide. The candidate will work closely with investigators to facilitate and enhance the processing of their projects. Commitment to accuracy, high attention-to-details, and ability to work independently are critical competencies for the role. The ability to lead projects and a team of bioinformaticians is a must. STAFF AUDITOR OVERVIEW
The Department of Corporate Compliance & Internal Audit is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Auditor to join their team in performing audit planning, audit execution, reporting and follow-up.
The types of audits include compliance, financial, operational, and process audits across the HSS enterprise. The Staff Auditor may also contribute to special investigations and other department initiatives.
This is a full-time role based in Manhattan, with flexibility for hybrid work. The Staff Auditor will be given opportunities for continuing professional education to enhance their skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the Internal Audit Director and supervision of the Senior Audit Manager, the Staff Auditor will perform the following:

Orthotic Fitter
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hospital for Special Surgery as it expands HSS Prosthetic and Orthotic department (HSS P&O). We are looking for highly qualified and motivated professionals whose experience has prepared them for a challenging and exciting career at the #1 ranked hospital in the US for orthopedics. We are seeking leaders who are independent and capable of helping grow the footprint of HSS P&O.
The mission of HSS is to provide the highest quality patient care, improve mobility and enhance the quality of life for all, and to advance the science of orthopedic surgery, rheumatology and their related disciplines through research and education. HSS P&O supports that mission by designing and fitting devices which enable patients to heal and meet their greatest potential. Members of the HSS P&O team will be designing the future of prosthetic and orthotic care treating patients locally and from around the world.
The position is for a full-time clinician working in a hospital setting which includes inpatient and outpatient care for diverse populations from pediatric to adult. Candidates will be responsible for providing off the shelf and custom fit orthotic devices. The applicant will be required to work closely with our providers clinically and will need to implement educational programs to teach other allied health providers about orthotic services. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow their clinical skill set. Some of the specific responsibilities included are:
· Communicating with providers to discuss orthotic needs and ordering practices
· Evaluating patients to determine the most appropriate orthotic design
· Determining and providing HSS staff with appropriate L-codes for obtaining authorization or billing custom orthoses
· Fitting orthoses both off-the-shelf and custom fit devices to inpatients and outpatients
· Contouring or adjusting orthoses to ensure appropriate fit and function
· Communicating with patients and families about appropriate care and use for devices provided
· Timely documentation of care provided in EPIC
· Obtaining patient signatures on all necessary paperwork for billing
· Managing inventory by placing orders, checking in items, and performing manual inventory counts as needed
· Performing patient chart reviews to confirm medical necessity and other necessary documentation is accurate for orthotic billing
· Assisting with administrative tasks around HSS providing orthotic care
· Training providers or HSS staff on orthotic workflows as needed
· Miscellaneous tasks identified to improve provision of prosthetic and orthotic care at HSS

Required qualifications:
· High school diploma, GED, college transcript or World Education Service (WES) Credential Evaluation (only applicable if you received your education in a foreign country)
· At least 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a setting with orthotics, with demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties in a patient care setting.
· Excellent communication and team building / interpersonal skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY:
The research assistant (RA) is an integral member of the Foot & Ankle research team who participates in all aspects of research management, scientific study, manuscript preparation, authorship, and quality assurance. The RA will have the opportunity to shadow orthopaedic attendings in clinical and surgical settings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conducts the informed consent process and oversees patient enrollment (requires appropriate training and certification of human research subjects training)
· Act as a resource for patients enrolled in clinical studies.
· Act as a liaison between physicians and study participants
· Lead efforts to meet patient enrollment targets related to independent research studies.
· Manages data collection for research studies including but not limited to collecting clinical data directly from patients, performing measurements for applicable studies, and managing the performance of all other duties as put forth in the protocol.
· Ensures timely data collection and entry.
· Ensures accuracy of personnel transcribing data from a paper case report form (CRF) into an electronic format.
· Manages and executes all IRB submissions and ensures timeliness and accuracy of these submissions and no lapses in approvals for the study.
· Represents the Principal Investigator in departmental audits as well as external audits performed by representatives of the sponsor for each clinical research project. Works closely with HSS internal monitor for guidance on these activities.
· Prioritizes and schedules work activities to ensure that workflow is controlled and meets the need of the department. Communicates and maintains institutional/departmental policies, standard operating procedures, quality standards, improvement initiatives and external legal regulations/regulatory requirements.
· Participates in weekly research meetings and updates and manages multiple research projects.
· Participates in clinical, bench and cadaveric research studies.
· Has opportunities for authorship of scientific studies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A qualified candidate has exceptional written and oral communication skills and utilizes these skills in an effective manner to interface with a broad range of surgeons, clinical staff, management, external sponsors, and patients at HSS.

What you will be doing

Job Description: Research Technician - Theresa Wampler-Muskardin Lab
Department/Service: Research Institute, Rheumatology

Specific Duties:
Administration: (10%):
Maintain standard operating protocols, list of reagents, study initiatives, assist with IACUC applications
Supervises and trains undergraduate students, medical students and residents in standard operating protocols
Provides weekly update at laboratory meetings
Autoimmunity Research (90%):
Works closely with Principal Investigator in the design and execution of translational studies in autoimmune disease.
Performs in vitro studies, which will include growing human cell lines and primary cells, with subsequent analysis of gene and protein expression. Studies may also include genotyping and flow cytometry, and in vivo mouse experiments.
Animal studies will incorporate use of mouse models of autoimmunity. Technician will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, providing animal care, and tissue harvesting techniques and post euthanasia processing.
Clinical studies will involve interaction with the clinical coordinators for collection of patient samples, and processing the samples.
The technician will interact with the research clinical coordinator and research assistants to cross-reference laboratory studies with clinical variables and outcomes.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree, biology, chemistry, or other relevant biomedical area
Skills required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Proficient use of computers and software.
Experience in human cell culture and cell purifications preferred.
Experience in murine handling and experiments preferred.
Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of Orthopedic and/or Rheumatologic terminology is a plus.
