Emp Status Per Diem Part time Work Shift Compensation Range The base pay scale for this position is $33.00 - $33.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.What you will be doing Central Sterile Technician Per-Diem 11:00pm-7:15pm At the Hospital for Special Surgery, Central Service Professionals play an integral part of patient safety and contributing to our low infections rates. Our CSP department is responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilizing and safely transporting reusable surgical instruments to our surgical areas. CSP also provides disposable medical supplies to the perioperative areas via surgical case carts. The mission is to provide customers with products that are 100% clean, complete, sterile and delivered on time. The process is complex due to the vast amounts and variety of surgical instruments found in each tray and meeting the demand of our very busy operating rooms here at HSS. The CSP team prides themselves in being engaged and compliant to regulatory standards for quality and patient safety in order to deliver the best service and products for patients that come to HSS. In the Central Sterile Technician role, we rely on you to adhere to the mission by ensuring the delivery of our world-renowned patient care, and providing sterile supplies, instruments and equipment required for patients undergoing orthopedic surgical interventions. You will support all patient care areas by properly processing surgical equipment using washers, sterilizers, dryers, and heat sealers. The processing and logging of implants and loaner sets of instruments is also vital to your contribution.     Under the direct supervision of the AMS Supervisor, the Medical Equipment Technician is responsible for medical equipment delivery and set-up in patient homes, pick-up from patient homes, cleaning equipment, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Maintains positive relations with patients. Picks up and cleans equipment as required. Performs light maintenance on van. Maintains mileage/vehicle log. Maintains equipment tracking and lot number tracking for oxygen and solutions. Maintains equipment maintenance per manufacture guidelines. Maintains delivery records. Assists in resolving client equipment problems when appropriate. Assumes on-call responsibilities when needed. Reports equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required. Appropriately adapts assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the physical, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each person served.
