JOB DESCRIPTION
The HSS Spine Development and Regeneration Lab aims to enhance clinical care through discovers from basic and translational research conducted in Dr. Dahia's Lab. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant will help conduct experiments involving clinical samples and genetic mice, including pain behavior and imaging studies, cell, and molecular biology experiments including cryosectioning, immunostaining and fluorescence microscopy, RNA in situs, RNA isolation, qPCR, and high throughput sequence analysis, data processing and statistical analysis. This individual will be an integral member of the research team in compliance with all regulatory, institutional, and departmental requirements. The candidate will play an integral role in day-to-day research activities in the lab and will be responsible of maintaining proper detailed laboratory records, data, databases and report timely to the Principal Investigator.

What you will be doing
STAFF AUDITOR OVERVIEW
The Department of Corporate Compliance & Internal Audit is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Auditor to join their team in performing audit planning, audit execution, reporting and follow-up.
The types of audits include compliance, financial, operational, and process audits across the HSS enterprise. The Staff Auditor may also contribute to special investigations and other department initiatives.
This is a full-time role based in Manhattan, with flexibility for hybrid work. The Staff Auditor will be given opportunities for continuing professional education to enhance their skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the Internal Audit Director and supervision of the Senior Audit Manager, the Staff Auditor will perform the following:
Audit Planning • Identify business process key risks and understand the underlying rationale behind audits selected for the Audit Plan • Research related best practices, information systems, key performance indicators, oversight committees, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements • Document and analyze process flows, identifying controls that effectively mitigate key risks • Identify control gaps that lead to significant risk exposures • Participate in kickoff meetings to explain the audit process, objectives, and methodologies to audit clients
Audit Execution • Design risk-based audit work programs that achieve audit objectives • Execute work programs by completing independent evaluations, inspections, interviews, observations, reconciliations, reviews, and tests to verify internal control effectiveness within the audit's budgeted time • Support performed work and related observations, conclusions, and findings clearly and concisely in accordance with Internal Audit department and professional standards • Provide regular audit status updates to the audit clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Reporting and Follow-up • Draft audit reports, articulating audit objectives, scope, conclusion, observations and management action plans • Participate in exit meetings to explain the audit observations, impact, and management action plans to the audit client and other stakeholders • Perform follow-up on open management action plans • Obtain and review evidence of management action implementation related to high-risk observations
REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor's degree in accounting, audit, or a related field • Three or more years' experience in auditing, accounting, finance, public accounting, and/or related field • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or commitment to attain CIA • Proficiency using audit management software and intermediate office software applications, including spreadsheets • Understanding of internal audit and risk assessments

Orthotic Fitter
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hospital for Special Surgery as it expands HSS Prosthetic and Orthotic department (HSS P&O). We are looking for highly qualified and motivated professionals whose experience has prepared them for a challenging and exciting career at the #1 ranked hospital in the US for orthopedics. We are seeking leaders who are independent and capable of helping grow the footprint of HSS P&O.

HSS P&O supports that mission by designing and fitting devices which enable patients to heal and meet their greatest potential. Members of the HSS P&O team will be designing the future of prosthetic and orthotic care treating patients locally and from around the world.
The position is for a full-time clinician working in a hospital setting which includes inpatient and outpatient care for diverse populations from pediatric to adult. Candidates will be responsible for providing off the shelf and custom fit orthotic devices. The applicant will be required to work closely with our providers clinically and will need to implement educational programs to teach other allied health providers about orthotic services. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow their clinical skill set. Some of the specific responsibilities included are:
* Communicating with providers to discuss orthotic needs and ordering practices
* Evaluating patients to determine the most appropriate orthotic design
* Determining and providing HSS staff with appropriate L-codes for obtaining authorization or billing custom orthoses
* Fitting orthoses both off-the-shelf and custom fit devices to inpatients and outpatients
* Contouring or adjusting orthoses to ensure appropriate fit and function
* Communicating with patients and families about appropriate care and use for devices provided
* Timely documentation of care provided in EPIC
* Obtaining patient signatures on all necessary paperwork for billing
* Managing inventory by placing orders, checking in items, and performing manual inventory counts as needed
* Performing patient chart reviews to confirm medical necessity and other necessary documentation is accurate for orthotic billing
* Assisting with administrative tasks around HSS providing orthotic care
* Training providers or HSS staff on orthotic workflows as needed
* Miscellaneous tasks identified to improve provision of prosthetic and orthotic care at HSS

Required qualifications:

Position Overview
The Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in high-performance computing to supporting technical development projects within its new Institute for Technology Development (HSS ITD). The role will initially focus on technical development within our groundbreaking Digital Twin Platform in Orthopedics project for our Digital Twin Platform in Orthopaedics project. This fully funded 4-year initiative will develop infrastructure to build patient-specific orthopedic digital twins to transform surgical planning and personalized care. Within this project, you will collaborate with expert scientists to deploy and optimize biomechanical simulation engines. This work will deploy physics-based knee models to a production cloud compute environment, optimize computational algorithms for real-time performance, and create the simulation backbone that enables surgeons to virtually test surgical strategies.

* Create production-level automated mesh generation pipelines from AI-segmented anatomical models
* Engineer surgical planning modules allowing interactive parameter adjustment and outcome prediction

Required Qualifications

The Hospitality Concierge will be part of a team dedicated to the excellence of the patient's accommodative experience and will report to the Associate Director of Ambassador Services. Together and with input from internal partners, the team will strive to continuously improve patient experience for all patients, through innovative thinking and best practices implementation. The Hospitality Concierge will represent the institution and help implement its strategic goals by role-modeling its patient experience philosophy.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Managing the accommodative patient experience for patients staying on Tisch 5, this includes room readiness, room assignments, and special requests
* Ongoing daily management of Tisch 5 amenity programs and successful implementation of new program initiatives, this includes keeping an accurate inventory and managing vendor relationships (for example: daily tea service, linen program, toiletries, patient snacks and other room amenities)
* Welcoming patients to Tisch 5 and providing them with information pertinent to their accommodative experience
* Daily rounding in order to visit all patients and their family members
* Responsible for fulfilling patients' requests and addressing inquiries that arise
* Quickly identify patient concerns, report them correctly, and provide patients with reasonable solutions to the problem
* Ability to have expertise in local area lodging, transportation and restaurants in order to better serve our patients
* Developing trusting and supportive relationships with all assigned patients and HSS staff
* Data entry and maintenance for all assigned patients and reporting and trend analysis
* Position requires schedule flexibility; including weekends, early mornings and late evenings
Qualifications:
* 2-3 years in a customer service setting, hospitality and/or healthcare.
* Must have outstanding customer service skills
* Excellent time-management and problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment
* Communication skills, with an emphasis on listening and interpreting body language required
* Pleasant and amicable character and ability to develop relationships with every patient type
* Utmost respect for patient privacy and confidentiality (the successful candidate will comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations)

What you will be doing
Position Summary:
This Associate role supports the operational and administrative management to the Office of Medical Leadership at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). Reporting to the Director of Physician Services, and working collaboratively with the Physician Services, Service Lines, and Practice Management teams, the Associate assists in various processes and tasks essential for the department to operate effectively on all physician-related matters.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
* Financial Analysis Support: Assists in completion of various departmental finance-related responsibilities including profit & loss statement analysis and review, physician revenue forecasting, physician practice expense tracking, budgeting, and various ad hoc reports.
* Physician Compensation Support: Assists Director, Physician Services in preparing physician compensation pro-formas for new recruits and existing physicians. Assists in compensation benchmarking by comparing physician compensation to industry standards to ensure pay is competitive and within fair market value norms. Helps in timely completion of annual physician compensation survey reports.
* CML System Management: Maintains the main physician database and lifecycle system for employment agreements. Ensures that all physician contracts are current and in compliance. Manages lifecycle flow between the Physician Services team, Legal, and Compliance departments. Prepares reports and performs periodic audits to ensure compliance and efficiency.
* Physician Onboarding Oversight: Together with HR, Practice Management and Service Lines, ensures that all physician onboarding and departures are seamlessly executed, ensuring smooth and efficient transitions. Manages all documentation related to onboarding, departures, and contract changes. Serves as liaison with General Accounting and Finance departments to ensure that appropriate accounts are set up and that physicians are charged to correct cost centers.
* Physician Payroll & Benefits Oversight: Ensures that all physicians are set up on payroll and paid appropriately. In addition, works with HR to make sure all physicians are set up with appropriate benefits. Runs regular audit reports to ensure accuracy.
* Special Project and Presentation Support: Provides support for special projects and ad-hoc requests from Hospital Leadership. Prepares executive ready slide presentations, visualizations, and talking points.
* Process Improvement & Automation: Identifies and executes opportunities to streamline data flows, automate recurring reports, and enhance data accuracy.
