Staff Accountant - Fixed Assets, Prepaids & Month-EndThe Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records related to fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and external entity trial balances, as well as supporting month-end close activities. This role ensures the integrity of the general ledger by recording asset and prepaid activity, uploading and reviewing trial balances for external entities, and performing balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. The Staff Accountant works closely with Accounting, Finance, and Operations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Key Responsibilities
Fixed Assets Accounting
Record fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and impairments in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including depreciation schedules and useful life assessments.
Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
Review capital expenditures to ensure proper classification and capitalization.
Prepaid Expenses & Ad Hoc Entries
Record and amortize prepaid expenses in accordance with accounting policies.
Maintain prepaid schedules and reconcile prepaid balances monthly.
Prepare and post ad hoc journal entries as needed, including corrections, reclassifications, and one-time adjustments.
Ensure all ad hoc entries are properly supported, reviewed, and documented.
External Entity Trial Balance Management
Upload trial balances received from external entities into the general ledger or consolidation system.
Review external entity trial balances for accuracy, completeness, and proper account mapping.
Investigate and resolve variances or inconsistencies in coordination with external partners.
Ensure timely integration of external financial data into the month-end close process.
Month-End Close & Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Prepare and post journal entries related to fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, allocations, and other recurring and non-recurring transactions.
Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual close schedules.
Ensure all accounting activities comply with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and explanations as required.

Experience: 3-5 years in public accounting or related experience
Reports To: Tax Director
Responsible for overseeing indirect tax compliance, including Sales Tax, Property Tax, Personal Property Tax, Gross Receipts and Jurisdictional Business Taxes, as well as business licensing. This position reports to the Tax Director and works with other tax seniors and accountants to ensure compliance at all company locations. Some assistance with income tax filing may also be required. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and implementation of indirect tax processes while continuing to grow technical knowledge and act as subject matter expert on indirect tax matters
Prepare and review sales tax filing in 45 states for multiple entities
Assist with sales tax audits as a direct contact
Assist in reconciling sales tax accounts
Prepare gross receipts, B&O, and other business tax filings
Manage property tax protest, payments and filing of personal property tax returns
Research various tax issues as needed
Correspond with various tax authorities
Register businesses in new locations and maintain a calendar for business license renewals

Qualifications:

Responsibilities
Executive Chef - In the absence of the Account Manager, the Executive Chef assumes the responsibility of managing and supervising the dining services staff. Provides leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met according to federal, state, and local standards, procedures and regulations. Leads small groups of subordinates in dining services activities on varying shifts as needed.
Reporting - Assist Account Manager in maintaining records of income and expenditures, food, supplies, personnel, and equipment in report format to be delivered to HCSG and Facility management.
Training - Assist in training, quality control, and in-servicing staff to meet HCSG standards, including touring the kitchen several times per day to assess work quality using QCIs for documentation purposes. Must also be able to perform the essential functions of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher to train and assist when there are call-outs.
Communication - Effectively communicate all directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff.
Safety - Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions. Able to safely and properly mix and use cleaning solutions while adhering to all safety precautions. Reporting equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion. Ensure the established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met. Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is always achieved. Follow proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing procedures/techniques.
Punctuality - Consistent attendance and punctual arrival. Timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule. Respond to the paging system in a timely and appropriate manner.
Customer Experience - Positively represents HCSG by following instructions, being courteous, and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers, and client staff.
Resident Experience - Positive, pleasant, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Demonstrate a positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily.
After completing all appropriate training, utilize leadership skills to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision and do so without injury to oneself or other individuals.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Specialized training in food service management and nutrition is desirable.
Two years of experience in quantity food production/service, dining/nutrition, and personnel supervision experience are desired.
Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.
May be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required based on State / County law.
Must be able to be at work as scheduled and on time.
Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and/or Customers.
Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
Must live in the service area.

Responsibilities
Cash Accountant - Cash Reconciliation & Month-End (High-Volume Environment)
The Cash Accountant - Cash Reconciliation & Month-End is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely cash reconciliations in a high-volume cash environment, preparing and posting journal entries, and performing balance sheet account reconciliations. This role plays a key part in the monthly close process and works closely with Accounting to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Reconciliation (High-Volume Environment)
Reconcile high volumes of daily cash transactions across multiple bank accounts and entities to the general ledger.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank records, cash subledgers, and accounting entries.
Monitor and clear outstanding items such as deposits in transit, outstanding checks, ACH transactions, and timing differences.
Coordinate with internal teams and financial institutions to research and resolve variances promptly.
Maintain detailed, audit-ready documentation supporting all cash reconciliation activity.
Month-End Close
Prepare and post journal entries related to high-volume cash activity, accruals, transfers, and other recurring and non-recurring transactions.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual close schedules.
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations with a focus on cash and cash-equivalent accounts.
Ensure all entries comply with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Support internal and external audit requests related to cash, reconciliations, and controls.
