A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.
Performs a variety of sterile processing functions. Assures proper decontamination, quality assurance, sterilization of equipment and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to areas throughout the affiliate and outside service contracts to ensure quality patient care and safety. Identifies and remedies equipment failures and hazards posing potential risks to patients.

Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
Experience Qualifications
1 year of sterile processing experience is preferred. Knowledge of nursing procedures, aseptic technique, medical terminology, and infection control is preferred.

WI-Certified and Registered CentralServiceTechnician (CRCST) is preferred.
IL-Certified and Registered CentralServiceTechnician (CRCST) is required within 18 months of employment.

Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Sterile Processing Technician to:
Perform all aspects of reprocessing at an advanced level with little supervision.
Assist the supervisory staff in assuring that all employees adhere to processes, policies, and work rules.
Lead the entire range of reprocessing services at the University Hospital and ensure that standards of operation are following the standards set by all regulatory agencies.

The ideal candidate will perform a variety of sterile processing functions, assure proper decontamination, quality assurance, sterilization of equipment, and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to areas throughout the affiliate and outside service contracts to ensure quality patient care and safety, identify and remedy equipment failures and hazards posing potential risks to patients. WI - 12 months experience as a Sterile Processing Technician I or comparable healthcare experience in nursing procedures, aseptic technique, medical terminology, and infection control is required.
IL - 18 months hospital sterile processing or related work experience is required.
