The Opportunity:
The One Medical Virtual Medical Team (VMT) is a leading provider of virtual clinical care, providing world-class, convenient, evidence-based virtual medical care to One Medical patients in concert with their primary care providers. Employment type:
Full time (40 hours including evenings and weekends)
What you'll be working on:
Treating patients via tele-health visits, including telephonic triage calls, video visit appointments, and email follow-ups
Continuous learning during weekly Clinical Rounds and through other modalities
Ongoing collaboration with both virtual and in-office teammates via daily huddles
Utilization of your specific clinical training and opportunities to give exceptional care to patients virtually
Education, licenses, and experiences required for this role:
Completed an accredited PA program with a national certification
Currently licensed in DC with ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed
In the past 5 years, practiced as an Advanced Practitioner for at least:
2 years in an outpatient primary care setting seeing patients of all ages (0+), OR 2 years in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting seeing patients of all ages (0+) Ability to work weekday and weekend shifts (every other Saturday and Sunday required)
Ability to work afternoons and evenings (current shifts range from 6a - 5p or or 9a - 8p or 11a - 10p)
Excellent clinical and communication skills

The base hourly range for this role is $56.50 to $63.00 per hour based on a full-time schedule plus evening and weekend differential. Final determination of starting pay may vary based on factors such as practice experience, physical location (state you live in) and patient care schedule. About the Role
During a visit that can last up to one hour, Matrix providers review and observe a member's current health, medical history, medication adherence, social environment and other risks. This provides unmatched insight into a member's overall health and well-being that can be difficult to capture during routine office visits. The Matrix Comprehensive Health Assessment (CHA) helps to improve quality of care and allows us to potentially close multiple care gaps with a single visit. Our providers:
Conduct adult / geriatric assessments to include medical history, diagnosis and treatment, health education, physician referrals, case management referrals, follow-up and clear documentation according to Matrix guidelines and protocols
Administer and order point of care and lab-based testing as needed
Work with physicians, case managers, social workers, family members, key caregivers, and ancillary medical personnel as appropriate
Collaborate with Primary Care Physician (PCP) on patient education and follow up as necessary
Provide services at the member's place of residence which can be in their homes or Skilled Nursing Facilities

Flexibility - Visits are scheduled based on YOUR availability. We conduct assessments Sunday - Saturday from 8 am - 7 pm. You can work during the day, evening, and/or weekend based on your schedule.
Competitive Pay - Earn income based on the number of assessments you complete. General Job Information This position is located in the District of Columbia Government (District), Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department (FEMS), Office of the Medical Director, Mobile Integrated Health Team (MIH Team). FEMS's mission of the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department is to preserve life and promote health and safety through excellent pre-hospital treatment and transportation, fire prevention, fire suppression and rescue activities and homeland security awareness. The incumbent in this role is responsible for operating under a delegation agreement and the supervision of the FEMS Medical Director, serving as the lead clinician for the MIH Team, providing advanced pre-hospital medical care, diagnosing and treating a wide range of illnesses and injuries on scene, and collaborating with EMS crews to improve patient outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a Physician Assistant engaged in the provision of advanced prehospital care to augment the capabilities of the Mobile Integrated Health Team. Provides safe alternative and diversionary treatment pathways for 911 callers who may be safely treated at the scene rather than transported to emergency departments. Uses sound clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning in non-traditional and austere environments to deliver effective care where traditional resources may be limited. Determines and manages patients experiencing behavioral health issues, substance use disorders, routine health concerns, and life-threatening emergencies by utilizing advanced medical decision-making skills. Utilizes point-of-care diagnostic imaging and testing to facilitate rapid diagnosis and timely treatment. Reviews diagnostic laboratory values to enhance clinical assessments and inform treatment decisions. Analyzes and interprets medical imaging, including X-rays and ultrasounds, to guide accurate diagnosis and appropriate interventions. Completes advanced procedures such as airway management, thoracostomy, ultrasonography, wound care, suturing lacerations, joint reductions for dislocations, and other minor surgical interventions to stabilize patients in critical situations.
Qualifications and Education
A minimum of one full year of work experience as a certified physician assistant equivalent to the next lower grade level and completion of an accredited physician assistant educational program is required.
License and Certification
Must possess and maintain the following: Active certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), a Physician Assistant license in the District of Columbia, American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider.
Working Condition/Environment
The work is carried out in a variety of settings and conditions, such as an office, prehospital environment, sometimes taking place in the street, the patient's home, or other public space that is physically remote from physician oversight. The work is performed throughout the Metropolitan Washington area. Preoperative Medicine Advanced Practice Provider Job Responsibilities:
Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in clinical area.
Provides direct clinical care to patients.
Prescribes/orders medications, therapies; orders/interprets laboratory tests, x-rays and procedures according to clinical privileges.
Provides comprehensive teaching to patients and families.
Documents in the medical record all care and education provided and/or procedures performed for which the Licensed Advanced Practice Provider is responsible.
Refers to other disciplines as appropriate. Consultant to other disciplines in areas of expertise. Integrates research based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision making.
Advocate for patients, families, coworkers, and the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Work schedule: 8 hour shifts: Monday thru Friday
Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with minimum of 2 years' experience
Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Maintains necessary CME requirements.
Licensed or eligible for licensing as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Active or eligible for DEA license
BLS, ACLS for Critical Care
Preferred Qualifications:

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
We are hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who will direct, coordinate, and provide medical/clinical services to specified individuals (youth and adults) within the facility, including, but not limited to intervention, psychiatric evaluation and assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, engagement, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, individual education, risk assessment, and discharge planning.
* Serves as the attending clinician to specified individuals. Completes initial psychiatric assessments, crisis interventions, family interventions, focused crisis diagnostic assessments, assessments of capacity for consent to treatment, risk assessments, individual education, progress toward treatment goals, discharge planning including medical, psychological, social, behavioral and developmental aspects of the individual's care, treatment, and services.
* Documents individual's progress in the clinical record including admission orders, progress notes, and discharge orders. Oversees delivery of medication education and consent, according to established policy.
* Orders laboratory tests according to standards of clinical practice. Reviews the health assessment completed by nursing staff, obtains a past and current medical history, and conducts a focused physical examination as indicated, according to established guidelines.
* Initiates contact with Primary Care Physicians and Emergency Room clinicians according to established guidelines.
* Assesses individual's needs and guides the clinical team while managing treatment plan updates, in addition to initiating contact with Outpatient Behavioral Health Provider according to established guidelines. Reviews and utilizes all available documents from the crisis clinical team.
* Provides necessary information to clinical team regarding inpatient utilization. Utilizes appropriate medication based on best practices.
* Collaborates with other personnel to ensure that each treatment modality is appropriate for the individual in addition to working with outside psychiatric providers in crisis and inpatient services. Works with the community to review involuntary petitions, assess involuntary patients, and coordinate with the legal system to follow established guidelines for Involuntary Evaluation and Treatment.
* Participates in medical staff meetings including regional and quarterly meetings; participates in all required meetings; and participates in any meeting as requested by Medical Leadership.
* Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

* Nurse Practitioner
* Unrestricted Registered Nursing license in the State of Virginia or hold multistate license.
* Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's level certification in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP)
