Job Summary: The Tasting Room Host/ Hostess will primarily focus on greeting the guests and making them feel welcome. Provide information and respond to guest requests in a prompt and courteous manner that will exceed their expectations. Compensation : $16.50 + Commission Schedule : Wednesday- Sunday, at minimum business needs. Weekends are a must. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Greet guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner. Explain how the tasting process works and ring up guest transactions. Escorts the guests to tasting counter to begin their tastings. Make, modify, and confirm reservations. Greet wine club members who are picking up their wine club package and assist them with the pick-up process. Thank the guests for coming and invite them to come back again. Stock wine and merchandise as requested by the Winery Manager or Tasting Room Supervisor. Must be knowledgeable about merchandise and gourmet foods and be able to assist guests on the floor. Must be outgoing and able to approach guests and initiate conversation. Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. Able to stand, walk and bend for extended periods of time Must be available to work weekends and holidays Must be able to work special events (i.e., barrel tastings, wine club pick up parties, etc.) Experience with wine desirable but not essential Positive attitude, good conversational skills and enjoys working with the guests.
