Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special events for dinner.
Welcomes guests with a friendly, professional and energetic attitude. Escorts guests to tables with menus.
Answers phone calls in a timely and courteous manner, gives basic information on reservations, availability, restaurant hours and services.
Keeps track of waitlist and open tables and accurately quotes wait times to guests.
Assigns tables to guests depending on party size and server availability and seats guests in a timely manner.
Answers guest inquiries regarding the menu and recommends items. Follows allergy policies.
Takes drink orders, if necessary, and certified by the Vermont Department of Liquor Control.
Observes and assists in preparing unoccupied tables for guests by wiping surface tops, removing debris and ensure seats and floors are clean around the table. Assists in resetting tables.
Assists with wait staff side work and opening and closing duties.
Keeps podium in a neat and orderly fashion.
Takes to-go orders accurately, recording guest name and contact number. Record the order in the POS, pack prepared take-out orders and delivers to guest. Helps take food to guests tables as needed.
Reports any guest complaints directly to supervisor or manager immediately.

To be conversant with every dish served in the restaurant and to provide explanations as requested.
To have a solid understanding of the current wine list and have the ability to sell and serve all wines and champagnes.

To ensure that all appliances, fixtures and fittings are safe and work in accordance with health and safety regulations.

General Bartender Responsibilities:
To support colleagues at peak times and to undertake any operational duty which might be reasonably required, to ensure customer expectations are met.
To undertake any other duties as requested by the Senior Management team, in accordance with the scope and responsibilities of the role.
To report for duty punctually and in full uniform according to appearance and grooming standards.
Compensation
Starting Pay Range: $20/hr - $25/hr, actual compensation may be adjusted based on qualifications and/or experience.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements and Work Environment for the Bartender:
Work requires vision to monitor, data entry and frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, driving and lifting and carrying restaurant stock and food supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
May be exposed to hazardous cleaning chemicals and supplies, hot food preparation equipment, smoke, and other hazardous conditions common to commercial food preparation areas.
May be exposed to individuals under the influence of alcohol. Work is performed in a restaurant and kitchen environment.
