Provide exceptional, proactive customer service by initiating and engaging in interactions with museum guests. Direct volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient program operations. Support and serve as the main point of contact for guest stars throughout their appearance as needed. Collect informal data, such as participant counts and surveys. Communicate scheduling, equipment, and operational needs to your supervisor. Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor. Ideal Experience and Skill Requirements 1 year of customer service experience, particularly with families and young children (preferred). Demonstrated ability to lead informal educational programs for children in a museum, camp, or similar setting. Museum, preschool, or equivalent experience is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable initiating conversations and approaching attendees in a friendly, welcoming manner. Reliability and professionalism when representing the organization in the community. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Physical Demands Walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment Exposure to a noisy and crowded atmosphere. Driving or being driven to programs. May need to walk between two buildings with some outdoor exposure. Schedule Flexible schedule required, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Required: Thursdays 3:30PM-7:30PM and Saturdays (10-15 hrs/week). Weekday summer availability preferred.
