Hosts for the Nantahala Outdoor Center work primarily in River's End Restaurant with the opportunity to work at a variety of food and beverage outlets around our Flagship Campus as well. Hosts that excel in their position may have the opportunity for advancement into a Server position if the hiring need arises. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and 21 to be able to do to-go deliveries. We can take on some host's that aren't 21 and wouldn't be able to do to-go orders. Availability depends on the current staffing needs. Hosts report to the Front of House Manager. Job Responsibilities Oversee the daily operation of an assigned camp group including before and aftercare. Greet new arrivals and introduce them to other campers; explain camp and facility rules. Facilitate engaging, hands-on, play-based learning experiences that foster relationships with and between campers. Perform the camp opening and closing duties. Assist with carpool duty to ensure an efficient and safe experience. Communicate with caregivers; Report camper complaints to leadership and work to resolve issues. Supervisory Responsibilities Shift Supervision and training for Teen Play Corp volunteers. Experience and Skill Requirements 1 year of experience in direct childcare (preferred). Prior camp or equivalent experience is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. First Aid and CPR certification a plus. Experience working with neurodivergent children is a plus.
