Rising Leaders Sophomore Diversity Internship

Scope

The Marketing Manager for the firm's Corporate Finance (CF) business will work cross-functionally to develop, manage, and execute the marketing strategies and activities of multiple industry groups and practice areas within CF. Job Description

Financial Analysts in the Business Services Group support investment banking engagements and new business development efforts. They work primarily on the execution of mergers and acquisitions transactions, as well as develop expertise and build relationships with clients in one or more sectors within the Business Services coverage universe. The Business Services team has particularly strong sector practices in the areas of Environmental Services, Training & Education, Transportation & Logistics, Marketing Services, IT Services, BPO Services, Information Services, Engineering & Construction, Testing, Inspection & Certification, and Rental Service. As part of our team, you will:

* Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information;
* Perform valuations of companies and businesses;
* Coordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A transactions;
* Prepare confidential memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations;
* Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements; and
* Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors.

Basic Qualifications

* At least 1 year of investment banking experience is required
* Course work in accounting and finance required
* Strong analytical capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills
* A fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and application

* Strong financial and computer (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) skills

Job Purpose

Our Real Estate Valuation and Advisory Services (REVS) team is excitingly recruiting for a new Associate who will be a fully integrated member of our engagement teams.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

Conducting market and financial research regarding real estate supply, demand, pricing and investment parameters; including in-market interviews, data gathering and confirmation of comparable transactions as well as utilizing data subscription sources

* Acquiring knowledge of the use and capabilities of subscription data sources, e.g., CoStar, SNL, CBRE-EA, and mining data from the sources efficiently
* Collecting, manipulating and analyzing property, market and financial data, including:
* Analyzing historic property operating statements
* Abstracting and analyzing leases
* Preparing complex cash flow models using Excel and/or ARGUS software, including analyzing available data to estimate revenues, costs and rates of return
* Estimating property and portfolio values

* Ensuring that all work product is accurate and complete
* Preparation of reports and presentations to team and clients, including graphic and written sections

Basic Qualifications

* COVID vaccination required, subject to applicable state and federal law
* Bachelor's degree in real estate or business administration or other related academic major with essential classes in finance, accounting and economics
* Approximately Four to Five years of real estate industry experience demonstrating solid real estate analytical capabilities
* Demonstrated real estate analytical skills, including ability to identify and analyze comparable property sales and leases
* Knowledge of real estate valuation techniques
* Strong technical modeling skills with Excel and ARGUS software and ability to model property performance and waterfalls from property financial statements, debt instruments, ownership documents, budget and leases combined with market data
* Knowledge of commercial property lease terms including expense treatments and adjustments to yield comparable rent amounts
* Thorough competence in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills
* Strong work ethic and attention to detail
* Strong business writing and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Possession of, or progress toward, real estate industry certifications and licenses, e.g., MAI, CCIM, certified general real estate appraiser, broker, CPA, a plus
* Willingness to travel
