Job Summary: The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of public areas, storage spaces, and administrative areas to ensure a pleasant guest experience. This role supports the housekeeping team by delivering supplies, removing trash, and assisting with various cleaning tasks throughout the hotel.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Provide professional and courteous service at all times.
Clean and maintain all public areas, storage areas, and administrative spaces.
Respond to guest requests by delivering supplies and service items to guestrooms.
Dust, vacuum, and maintain public areas, hallways, restaurants, and rest areas.
Polish metalwork and furniture in public and administrative areas.
Collect soiled linens and transport them to the laundry, and store clean linens appropriately.
Vacuum floors and clean restrooms as assigned.
Remove trash from public and back-of-house areas.
Clean outside areas, including arrival zones and the porte-cochère.
Replenish supplies in designated areas as needed.

**JOB PURPOSE:**
This position will provide custodial support for Stanford's Student Housing facilities. He/She/They will be responsible for cleaning, organizing, and maintaining an assigned student housing area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, and other duties may be assigned:
+ Organize and maintain all equipment and chemicals in the custodial closet in a secure, clean, and in ready condition for use.
+ Understand how to prepare and use all chemicals and maintained Safety Data Sheets (SDS) manual on cleaning chemicals.
+ Clean a variety of floors and floor coverings.
+ Clean, scrub, sweep, pick up, wipe, wash, dust, polish all common interior/exterior areas including walls, handrails, fixtures, woodwork, ceilings, furniture, light fixtures, appliances, picture frames, mirrors, water fountains, switch covers, and shelving.
+ Clean and sanitize restrooms, shower rooms, laundry rooms, and locker areas. - Report to management all emergencies' damages, fixtures/furniture losses, maintenance needs, equipment repairs, and safety issues.
+ Clean windows and doors in the designated upper floor interior windows and first floor exterior and interior windows as required.
+ Clean kitchenette. Remove and relocate dishes from counter to designated area. Clean exterior and interior of stove, refrigerator, sink, counter tops, cabinets, and drawers.
+ Provide full-service support for summer programs including but not limited to clean guest rooms, make bed with clean linen, and provide towels for bathroom.

**Minimum Requirements:**

Receives and follows written and verbal Housekeeping schedules and instructions from Supervisor or Manager.
Cleans assigned and scheduled common areas.
Clean and disinfects areas as assigned to include furniture, walls, common restrooms, offices, resident rooms, common areas, glass, doors, nursing stations, dining rooms, and any other area requiring disinfecting or cleaning.
Clean resident apartments. To include bathrooms, sinks, showers/tubs, toilets, counter, walls and mirrors, windowsills, pictures on walls, doors, closets, dressers, night stands and telephones.
Removes all trash from apartments and common areas, insures trash containers are clean and then relines container with appropriate liners.
Properly cleans any biohazard spill or immediately; informs supervisor or director if a hazard exists.
Always puts out “wet floor” signs prior to wet mopping common areas, or puts out “wet floor” signs in case of flood, spills or overflow.
Maintains a good working relationship with fellow workers or supervisors.
Works safely on a daily basis. Does not endanger fellow workers, staff or residents.
Responds to emergencies and cleans affected area as required.
Informs and turns in any and all malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or director.
Reports and responds to any and all safety issues requiring attention.
