What will I be doing?

As a Housekeeping Supervisor you would be responsible for executing your position's responsibilities in alignment with our Spirit of Service culture and driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Coordinate staff scheduling according to standards and forecasted occupancy; assigns daily work tasks to employees
• Maintain room inventory timely and efficiently for the Front Desk
• Documents and communicates maintenance requests to the engineering department to ensure resort service quality standards are met
• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest happiness
• Displays professional image at all times through appearance, dress, and conduct
• Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA

Westminster Village is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Housekeeping Supervisor position. Our beautiful, gated community is located in Spanish Fort, AL.

In this role, you will support the Director of Environmental Services with administrative tasks including the scheduling of staff assignments, charging of fee for service engagements, and training of staff. Maintains inventory of supplies, chemicals, and equipment. Serves as back-up to the director in his/her absence.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Minimum of one year supervisory experience in the environmental services field

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and manage all room, house, and public area associates effectively and efficiently.
• Provide training to team members on a regular basis as you work to identify areas of improvement and efficiency.
• Ensure stay-over and vacant attendant service is consistently performed by room attendants to the level defined in the housekeeping training manual.
• Prepare clear and concise communications, letters, instructions, and reports as required.
• Inspect all assigned guest rooms to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Demonstrate proper use of cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces.
• Handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months housekeeping experience at a resort or hotel.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking and standing for entire length of shift.
• Frequent climbing of stairs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying.
• Use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete scrubbing/washing.
