The Opportunity:
The Corporate Attorney will be involved in drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide range of contracts, including vendor/procurement, sales/service and non-disclosure agreements. This role will also perform ancillary matters related to commercial contracts, including advising internal clients on contract interpretation and the legal ramifications of contract terms. The incumbent will also assist senior counsel with matters including legal research projects.
Day in the Life:
Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial contracts, such as vendor/procurement, sales/service, and non-disclosure agreements.
Advise various internal departments regarding contract terms and implications on business operations, including providing guidance and practical solutions.
Assist senior internal counsel with matters including legal research projects and commercial disputes.
Draft and respond to demand letters related to contract matters.
Ability to travel as needed to successfully perform position responsibilities, and handle disruptive work schedules, deadlines and unpredictable events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree and JD Degree (from ABA accredited law school) required. Admission to a state bar with an active membership in good standing required; admission to State of Florida Bar preferred.
Five (5) years' experience as an attorney in drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts.
Ability to quickly and accurately identify legal and business issues and risks
Familiarity with the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, National Credit Union Administration regulations and data privacy laws preferred
Exposure to contract disputes, including dispute resolution and/or litigation is preferred
Experience within a corporate legal environment preferred.
Experience working in financial services sector preferred.
