Hybrid remote working environment. Our offices are on Brickell Ave in Miami. We are still working remotely. Attendance in Miami will not be required daily for lawyers at this time. The firm is led by John H. (Jack) Hickey. Jack is a frequent lecturer and author of articles on trial technique, litigation in general and maritime law. He is also Board Certified by The Florida Bar in two areas, Civil Trial and Admiralty and Maritime.

The verdicts and settlements which Jack has achieved total more than $100 Million. Many of those verdicts and settlements have been record-breaking for the injuries involved. Last year, we received an arbitration award for a Celebrity Cruise Line seaman. The total of this award with interest was $10.6 Million. Recently, Jack got a verdict of $4.5M for the pain and suffering only of an 89-year-old woman for the 4 years she lived after the car crash which caused her injuries. (The Plaintiff died before the trial of causes unrelated to the car crash). That verdict of pain and suffering of $1Million per year was affirmed on appeal.

The TMX Finance Family of Companies (the "Company") is currently seeking an in-house Lead Litigation Counsel, Arbitration ("Arbitration Counsel") whose primary responsibility is to aggressively defend the Company in Arbitration proceedings. Partner with members of the Legal team in administration of high volume arbitrations, litigation, and corporate matters, discovery projects, document review, and legal research on a variety of issues, including compliance and regulatory matters.

Collaborate with a team of sophisticated legal and business minds when responding to pre-suit matters, including attorney letters and customer complaints, and ensuring arbitration strategies are in line with other litigation matters.

Coordinate the development of policies and procedures to mitigate corporate risk identified in defending arbitration matters and engage appropriate business units when necessary.

Identify areas for opportunities and productive ways to solve issues before the happen or so they do not happen again.

Support the SVP & General Counsel, Vice President - Senior Managing Counsel and the Vice President of Strategic Legal Operations, as needed.

Review of insurance policies and/or business/commercial contracts, particularly vendor contracts not only for contract specific terms, but also ensuring terms are aligned with business objectives, as needed.

Qualifications

Primary Job Function:

Substance abuse counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, counselor will evaluate patients progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients therapy and treatment for best overall outcome.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
  • Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints
  • Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
  • Involve families and significant others in patients recovery process whenever possible
  • Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
  • Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications | Education | Certifications:

  • Associates and/or Bachelor in Behavioral Sciences
  • Qualifying Utah License - ASUDC, CASUDC, CASUDC-I, SUDC, CSUDC, CSUDC-I, LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, SSW or eligible Psychology graduate working towards an SSW license
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
