MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Performs general cleaning such as: stripping floors, buffing, sweeping, dusting, mopping and scrubbing, cleans windows, walls, drinking fountains, chalkboards, and restrooms.
* Picks up trash on grounds and sweeps entrance walks. Replaces light bulbs and tubes. Removes trash from the building and places in containers. Sets-up and breaks down cafeteria tables.
* Moves and rearranges furniture. Cleans halls and replenishes supplies as scheduled. Assists with waste prevention or careless use of supplies, equipment and utilities.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
* Maintains inventory of supplies.
* Oversees the security of the school at the end of each work day.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Cleaning includes dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, gum removal, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor and spot cleaning glass
Performs additional duties as required, including attending to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns
Restock carts and closets at the end of each shift

DSU is seeking to hire a Custodian. Under general supervision, the Custodian performs a variety of custodial services both individually and with other Custodial Services staff in residence halls, academic and/or administrative facilities as assigned. The position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the day-to-day cleanliness and attractiveness of university facilities, surrounding building areas, and set-up for activities. The specific duties, tasks or combinations of tasks may vary according to the assigned facility(s); facility assignments may change to meet the needs of the department. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and as such will have varying hours.
