After law school he began his career with Baker Botts LLP. In 1984, he was elected managing partner of the firm and continued in that role for 14 years.
He began his career in sales and in 1987 joined Phillips Petroleum, where he held positions in sales, marketing, and corporate planning.
Sanjay began his career with McKinsey in 1997 but during a several year leave of absence, he worked as a private equity investor at General Atlantic Partners.
Barnett served as chairman of the task force which recommended, and the Houston City Council approved in 2002, the privatization of the operation of the Zoo.
In December of 2007 Lyondell Chemical Company was acquired by LyondellBasell Industries, and Mr.
Bob Edwards joined Natural Gas Partners (NGP) Energy Capital Management as a Managing Director in 2009 and serves as Partner of the NGP funds.
Prior to joining the Houston office in 2012, Bas directed the firm’s private equity and real estate investment platforms.
Stacy Methvin has been the Chair of the Houston Zoo’s Board of Directors since July, 2016.
He is a member of the ChampionX Executive Committee and the advisory board for the company’s African and African American Resource Group (Essence). He joined ChampionX in 2020, after a 26-year career in energy financial services, split between investment banking and investment management.
