Culture is still very much rooted in a white male Physics PhD on top, try-not-to-be-too-different origin. Some people getting hired these days "look different" on the outside but haven't really encountered much of a difference in their work styles or world views. A lot of management doesn't have the greatest people skills. The work may be interesting but one finds it difficult to find people who are willing to speak up and do the right thing in questionable situations. Also, not the friendliest group of people with a fair amount of silos, bullying and ostracizing. More competition than collaboration.
