Performs medical & first aid assistance to individuals and employees who become ill or injured on the job. Performs regulatory physicals, e.g. Licensed Reactor Operator, Respiratory, Crane Operator, Fire Brigade, Security, Vision testing, Hearing Testing, Return to Work, etc. Supports case management work related or personal injuries/illnesses and to support the Fitness for Duty (FFD) program. EDUCATION Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program and must successfully pass the State Nursing Board Examination for registered nurses. (Required) Bachelors degree in Nursing (Preferred) EXPERIENCE • 2 Years + (3 yrs min) as a practicing nurse with experience in assessment, treatment/referral of emergency and non-emergency injuries/illness or occupational nursing experience within the last five (5) years. (Required) LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS Audiometry Certification (Required) Spirometry Certification (Required) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES NURSING DUTIES: Performs regulatory physicals, e.g. Licensed Reactor Operator, Respiratory, Crane Operator, Fire Brigade, Security, Vision testing, Hearing Testing, Return to Work, etc. Administers first aid and emergency response medical care for industrial and personal injuries/illnesses. Arranges for further care if needed. Provides inoculations as needed. Performs medical case management for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), American With Disabilities act (ADA), industrial and personal injuries/illnesses. Performs drug and alcohol screenings and participates in on-call rotation in support of the Fitness for Duty Program. Maintains regulatory compliance standards for OSHA and infection Control/Hazardous Waste. Maintains records for the Hearing Conservation Program. Manages Workers' Compensation cases. Maintains and processes medical records. Coordinates data input of medical information in appropriate databases. Coordinates Employee Assistance Program (EAP) return to work and plant access issues with the EAP counselor. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Accept ERO position as needed. Accept outage position as needed. Accept FFD on-call as needed SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access. Possess medical knowledge and physical assessment skills. Knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements. Knowledge of state and local laws related to health and social issues. Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of employees. Ability to exercise judgment when dealing with sensitive issues. Ability to meet people put them at ease and quickly builds rapport. Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure. Ability to use a personal computer and associated software for accessing medical records and data. Ability to case manage and maintain medical records. Ability to handle multiple tasks in high stress level situations. WORKING CONDITIONS Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed. Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week. Normal office environment. Travel may be required. Continuous viewing of computer monitor may be required. Ability to lift 30 pounds.
