The ideal candidate must meet all qualifications required for Level 4 installers and have experience adhering to RBOC standards. While this position is based in the McAllen, Texas area, the candidate will be required to travel frequently throughout Texas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee various types of optical transport projects and serve as the lead. Understand and interpret detailed specifications, drawings, blueprints, schematics, and methods of procedures (MOP). Manage inventory and ensure the proper handling of tools, materials, and equipment. Install frames and racks, create cable paths, and set up fiber troughs and both horizontal and vertical pathways for fiber optic cable management systems, in accordance with design documentation. Build iron and ladder racks as needed. Run DC power cables, fiber cables, CAT6 cables, and alarm cables. Perform lacing, stitching, and sewing of cables. Terminate DC power, rectifiers, power distribution units (PDUs), BDFB/BDCBBs, inverters, converters, Raycaps, and associated infrastructure used in optical networks. Terminate Ethernet and power cables, as well as fiber optic jumpers. Clean and inspect fiber connectors, and document light levels and other readings using job-specific testing equipment, such as OTDRs, optical power meters, volt meters, and fiber scopes. Troubleshoot various optical network equipment and power systems. Test and evaluate systems to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members to ensure project timelines are met. Provide detailed documentation of work performed and deliver daily status updates. Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily reports, test results, and as-built drawings. Supervise and mentor junior-level installers as a Level III or Level IV Installer, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards. Skills and Abilities Required: Strong technical knowledge of current network products with minimal training needed. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation. Demonstrated expertise in all phases of optical network installation. Experience working with major carriers such as Frontier, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Dish Wireless. What you will do… Partner on all aspects Axxess' global IT, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services. Provide tiered support to resolve complex IT issues escalated from the helpdesk. Monitor and optimize the performance of IT systems and services to meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs). Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure optimal service delivery. Partner on cost effective procurement of global IT hardware, software, and services. Partner to develop and manage the site's IT budget, monitoring expenditure and optimizing costs. Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve business processes and outcomes. Partner to develop and execute site-specific IT strategies and plans aligned with the organization's overall IT and business objectives. What you will bring… Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Master's degree or MBA is a plus. At least 5 years of experience in IT management, with significant exposure to infrastructure and systems administration required. Experience in planning and managing IT projects. Thorough understanding of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs). Proficiency in managing server and storage environments (Windows/Linux servers, SAN/NAS). Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). Experience with enterprise applications and system integrations. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft MCP/MCSE, or VMware VCP are advantageous. Ability to work from our Dallas office as this is not a remote role.
