Essential Duties
Work directly with clients in all phases of design process - from the initial napkin sketch to opening the front door!
Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications
Develop and maintain project budgets, work plans, and contracts
Collaborate with other enthusiastic ISGers while leading design efforts to create inspiring and uplifting spaces to live, work, and play
Communicate project goals, objectives, design standards and procedures with project managers and multi-disciplinary teams
Maintain the quality control of drawings and specifications
Direct the development and preparation of project contract documents
Get your boots dirty conducting site visits to observe construction progress and respond to any on-site challenges
Help mentor and develop the next generation of designers and architects

In this role, you will work closely with Tarah Raaum, AIA, Healthcare Business Unit Leader and Jeremy Wiesen, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, Architecture Group Leader. You will also collaborate with ISG internal resources for design and project collaboration, project execution, code review and evaluations, specification writers, visualization specialists, and construction administrators.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Serve as the technical lead across multiple healthcare projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, guidelines, and healthcare regulations (e.g., FGI, NFPA, ADA, Joint Commission)
Develop and review architectural designs and construction documents from concept through construction administration
Provide technical oversight on design and detailing, ensuring constructability and alignment with design intent
Lead internal collaboration and execution between Architecture and additional in-house disciplines including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, Landscape, Interiors
Mentor and coach junior architects and designers, fostering a culture of learning and high performance
Coordinate with consultants and stakeholders to align on project scope, schedule, and budget
Lead quality assurance and quality control processes, supporting the successful delivery of healthcare facilities
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Architect (RA) in the U.S. (required)
Minimum 10 years of architectural experience with a strong focus on healthcare projects
Deep knowledge of healthcare codes, standards, and best practices
Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects and teams concurrently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
Willingness to be both a coach and doer, offering mentorship while remaining engaged in the technical details of project delivery
