Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a full-time opportunity for an experienced CivilEngineering Staff (EIT) / Eng I at our Dallas office. The candidate will work collaborative in a team environment supporting project managers with a variety of civilengineering projects in our Transportation Practice Area. The EIT will work directly with a Professional Engineer to develop professional technical expertise and knowledge necessary to fulfill the experience requirement for licensure as a Professional Engineer.

Duties:
* Produce design and construction drawings using information from supervisor, research data, and input from consultants
* Produce design plans for private development projects and clients
* Plan production will include preparations of plan and profiles of streets and other underground utilities
* Assist project manager and project team with of design plans, specifications, construction support, cost estimating, geotechnical coordination
* Research materials and assemblies for design and construction drawings as directed by supervisor
* Conduct site visits and assist with documenting findings
* Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes, and assist with general project correspondence
* Compose and prepare graphic materials for presentations and documents
* Assist with construction support activities such as site visits, change orders, shop drawing review, responding to RFIs, construction detail modifications, punch list preparation, etc.
* Assist with research for fee proposals and be willing to learn how to prepare proposals

This position will office out of our Dallas, TX location in a 'Class A' office space including a state-of-the-art gym (no cost), covered parking, food court, and more.
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

* May be required drive to visit client or project sites for short periods of time

Complete projects within client specifications, budgets and schedules

The individual will provide construction administration support for such activities as contractor submittal reviews, contractor requests for information, review of contractor monthly invoices and provide recommendations for invoice approvals, participation in construction progress meetings, occasional site visits as necessary
The individual will also provide support for the development of scopes of work, labor hour estimates, and project scheduling for new projects. On occasion as directed, individual will communicate directly with clients

Undertakes Project Manager responsibilities for major projects ($2.0+ million annual billing).
