Stakeholder feedback - gathers input from various stakeholders (i. e. , public and private child serving agencies, associations, those with lived experience of child protection, community service providers, child advocacy groups, etc. ). Policy and Programming Development, Revision, and Guidance Based upon federal acts, task force recommendation, administrative decisions, analysis of legislation, or the combination thereof to establish Ohio's minimum standard of practice. Develops Ohio Administrative Code rules (e. g. , administrative, screening/intake, assessment/investigation, case planning, and review requirements for PCSAs). Follows rule drafting and filing guidelines and procedure per the Ohio Legislative Service Commission. Provides expertise, technical assistance, and training to ensure consistent practice application and implementation of OAC. Develops policy and practice guidance documents and additional resources to further support practice and rule compliance. Develops assessment and planning tools used in child protection (Comprehensive Assessment and Planning Model (CAPM) tool set). Communicates with various agencies and stakeholders (e. g. , PCSAs, Title IV-E Juvenile Courts, private child serving agencies, community providers, and other governmental agencies) to address child protection policy, programming, and application. Responds to inquiries from citizens, stakeholder groups, PCSAs, federal and state partners/agencies. Provides presentations and trainings in various child protection subjects (i. e. , Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA), CAPM, screening guidelines, OAC rules, service planning and reviews, etc. ). Evaluates service delivery and provides recommendations for increasing program effectiveness. Communicates through various platforms to promote programs and services that support child protection policy and programming. Collaborates with various sections within the office (e. g. , automated systems, kinship/adoption section, title IV-E section, etc. ). Facilitates and/or participates in staff meetings, trainings, and conferences. Operates personal computer and applicable software applications. A mentor plays a crucial role in helping students overcome obstacles and rediscover the value of education, contributing to their long-term success. Although this is a remote position, it requires in person meetings and participation in staff and student events. The Key Performance Indicator (KPI) that measures the Mentors' efficacy and successfulness is the credits earned rate (CER). Success in this position is defined by maintaining an average of 0.5 monthly credit earned rate for a student roster. Responsibilities Student Progress: Track and assess student progress in completing the appropriate number of courses per month. Modify strategies and methods as needed to ensure success. Student Support: Provide students with the support needed to ensure they can work on their courses and achieve monthly progress towards graduation. Refer students to other departments and staff for ancillary services that are nonacademic. Student Rapport: Develop trusting relationships with students and their parents to create a bond between the student and the mentor that advances the student's progress towards graduation. Document parent and student communication. Student Outreach: Establish and maintain student contact centered around student success. Provide guidance to students as they work through their courses and towards graduation. Refer students over to HUBs and other services as needed. Student Goals: Create individualized student learning plans that clearly set forth the student's path towards graduation. Update goals as needed and use goals as motivation for students to achieve the desired outcomes. Perform other related duties as assigned.
