This role will assist with the delivery of HR customer service and reduce the waiting times associated with unscheduled and walk-in inquiries. This role was established in 2016 in order to triage all HR Benefits incoming calls/in-person visits and refer or respond as appropriate. This position will play a significant role in improving employee satisfaction when it comes to the delivery of day-to-day HR operations, specifically in the area of employee benefits (health insurance, retirement, etc.). The Benefits Department continues to experience a progressive increase in daily walk ins, calls and emails in all areas. With the constant orientation and on-boarding of over 150 new employees per month this position is critical to maintaining an excellent and responsive level of staff customer service. This position will also assist the various retirement transactions, such as ERS & ORP enrollments and 403(b) feedback files. In addition, this position will assist the Benefits Manager with department requests and special projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of administrative experience or Associate's degree and one year of experience. Excellent written/oral communication, computer and organizational skills required, and ability to multi-task required. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, WORD, and PowerPoint. Competent with various computer software applications and should be able to work with independence on a directed project.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience assisting with the administration of HumanResources Benefits.

Responsibilities
Employee Leave of Absence Management:
- Assess employee's eligibility for leave and assist in applying for said leave such as: FMLA/CFRA, PFL, DBL, and Workers Comp.

- Approve/deny disability and FMLA leave requests under the guidance of the HR Manager

The HumanResources Specialist assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the humanresources functions and duties. The HumanResources Specialist carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas; payroll, employee relations, benefits, all facets of recruitment, and employee programs.
Responsibilities:
Assist with processing payroll for 200+ employees
Assist with maintaining the HR systems and any changes pertaining to employee personal and job data records.
Support the internal and external staffing/recruiting process, administer testing, schedule interview, drug test, assessment, and physician evaluation.
Assisting with the development and production of designated queries, surveys, data collection and reports pertaining to internal and external staffing.
Responsible for maintenance of ICIMS and Prove-It system for recruiting efforts.
Participate and assist with recruiting.
Provide administrative support for calendar management, meeting coordination, arranging appointments and conference calls.
Special work as assigned including various other research and/or statistical compilation
Answers telephone, open/sorts and prioritizes mail.
Coordinate uniform program for new hires and yearly renewal.
Assist with all company events and employee engagement activities.
Responsible for maintaining personal files
All other duties as assigned by HR Manager.
Requirements:
Associates degree preferred
Previous experience in HumanResources a plus
Exceptionally strong interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills
Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to balance several priorities from multiple sources required
Flexibility and adaptability in dealing with rapidly changing priorities and demands necessary
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines under pressure while maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Excellent follow through on commitments, using sound judgment with the ability to recognize and handle sensitive/confidential information.
Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office required
Must be willing and able to work overtime when needed.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence of all regulations outlined by funding source and contracts.
Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for administrative review.
Assist RCIL Departments with implementing recommendations of internal audits and monitor implementation of corrective actions to ensure resolution of identified issues.
Maintain accurate documentation and records of all audit activities in accordance with internal standards.
Serve as regulatory resource for departments within RCIL, as assigned by the Chief Corporate Compliance Officer.
Support departments/programs during external audits.
Assist Chief Corporate Compliance Officer with preparation and analysis of data necessary for management and Board of Directors Committees and to meet regulatory requirements.
Remain current with regulations and rules impacting departments (e.g. OPWDD, DOH, OMH, OFA, ACCES-VR) and communicate this information accordingly.
Write or revise policies and procedures as needed.
Create, conduct or identify needed trainings.
Assist Chief Corporate Compliance Officer and other department members with the design or updates to analytical tools such as spreadsheets, surveys and databases.
Education Requirements:
A Bachelor Degree in Human Services, Risk Management, or related field preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of college education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
A minimum of 1 year of related experience in Auditing and/or Compliance tasks.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
Prior experience with analytical tools and/or statistics is required.
Keen attention to detail is required for this position.
Knowledge of OPWDD, ACCES-VR, and DOH regulations is desired. Independent Living philosophy and ADA familiarity preferred.
Good analytical, listening, writing and verbal communication skills are required.
Demonstrate the ability to act with the highest degree of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
