Essential Functions:

  • Remain updated on changes in all federal, state, and local regulations – communicate the applicable changes, and create any training and procedures to ensure organizational compliance
  • Creates and maintains all employee files – help convert to all electronic employee files
  • Assist with onboarding procedures and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
  • Employee Relations: Provide coaching and counsel to management and employees to drive resolution in line with policies, guidelines, and employment law – guide managers in working through and investigating varying employee relation situations
  • Ensures all processes associated with payroll, new hire, transfer, and termination transactions are accurate and up to date
  • Manage employee off-boarding process and gather insight and data on terminations – propose strategies to reduce attrition with departments
  • Ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently and provide direction to senior and first-line managers
  • Works with managers on creating job descriptions for all departments and positions
  • Benefits – Assist employees with any questions related to health plans, and work with our vendors on any employee related benefits concerns and COBRA and ACA regulations

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of all federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Experience using an HRIS system and being able to generate data, insights and reports
  • Knowledge of various HRIS and ATS systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education & Experience:

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a fast-paced environment – handling various HR transactional duties and building out HR procedures from scratch
  • Experience handling complex employee relations issues and ensuring accurate documentation
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, HR or a related field is highly preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR highly preferred
