WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) … The Human Resource (HR) Generalist is responsible for running the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits and leave administration, compliance, event planning, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position supports the organization through effective communication, process management, and staff engagement while ensuring HR operations align with organizational goals and culture. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files and HRIS data. Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and certifications. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Participate in audits and ensure HR records meet organizational and legal standards. Review and update HR policies and procedures as needed. Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. Collaborate with department managers to understand required skills and competencies. Conduct background checks, reference checks, and employee eligibility verifications. Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation, onboarding, and employee recognition programs. Support administration of compensation, benefits, and leave programs. Coordinate payroll and benefits activities in partnership with the finance department. Provide guidance to managers and staff regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee relations. Support performance evaluations, coaching, development, and retention initiatives. Assist in administering disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations as assigned. Plan and coordinate employee events, appreciation initiatives, trainings, and professional development sessions. Support internal communication strategies, including newsletters, announcements, and company-wide meetings or celebrations. Generate and analyze HR reports to track key metrics such as turnover, hiring, and training compliance. Provide general administrative assistance to HR leadership and senior management. Participate in organizational projects, initiatives, and strategic planning efforts. Requirements WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU… Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources or administrative support; experience as an HR Generalist preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus. Demonstrated experience in event planning and employee engagement initiatives preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. Employee Relations Ability to triage employee concerns and issues; knowing when to escalate to the Administrator and/or EAS HR. Ensure consistent application of policy & procedures to include corrective disciplinary actions. Maintain disciplinary log. Drive facility recognition and retention programs, i.e., Employee of the Month, birthdays, anniversaries. Managing Performance Management systems and supporting management in employee development. Cultivating and monitoring company culture via multiple avenues, to support the attainment of the company's goals and promote employee satisfaction and retention. Planning and executing company events and meetings (both remote and in person) that encourage team bonding, culture diffusion and ongoing organizational learning and development. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field. PHR is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in a Human Resources management role. Demonstrable knowledge in state & federal labor laws, FMLA, OHSA, & COBRA. Must have prior recruitment and employee onboarding experience. Prior payroll and benefits experience strongly preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, highly organized, detail oriented,& quality focused. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Effectively prioritize job responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to successfully self-manage and work autonomously. This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
