Key Responsibilities
Staffing: Assist with the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of new hires to meet site-specific staffing needs. Also ensuring that only candidates that are fully qualified to work on the SME team are hired full time

Performance Management: Coach leadership on performance management skills, including providing guidance on documenting performance issues and supporting corrective action plans
Employee Coaching: Work with employees to promote safety, quality, and the achievement of key performance metrics
Corporate-Wide Initiatives: Contribute to corporate-wide HR initiatives, providing feedback and insights to the Corporate Headquarters (CHQ) regarding necessary process improvements
Project Work: Take on special projects to support the broader HR team, including process improvements, policy updates, and other strategic initiatives
Onboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization
Other Tasks as Assigned: Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the HR Manager or site leadership
Qualifications
Required:
3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and ensuring only the appropriate parties have access to certain sensitive data sets pertinent to their role

ROLE of the POSITION
UNLV HumanResources is seeking applications to join our Compensation and Classification team. THE ROLE

The HumanResources Coordinator provides comprehensive support for university HR operations with a primary emphasis on employee benefits administration and management of the student worker (work-study) program. This includes coordinating benefit enrollments and changes, advising employees, maintaining accurate benefits and payroll records, and supporting compliance requirements.
The position also leads all recruiting, hiring, onboarding, placement, and documentation processes for work-study students, offering training and guidance to supervisors and student workers. Additional responsibilities include supporting faculty and staff recruitment, onboarding processes, HR documentation, training coordination, audits, and general HR operations. The role is proactive with expectations for continual process improvement and updating procedures and workflows.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Employee Benefits Administration
- Serves as the primary contact for employee benefit questions, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, and health savings accounts.
- Coordinates benefit enrollments, terminations, life-event changes, and employee communications.
- Works closely with benefit vendors to resolve issues and ensure accurate plan administration.
- Assists with accounting and payroll processes related to benefit deductions and employer contributions.
- Supports open enrollment activities-communication, scheduling, and assisting employees.
- Maintains accurate benefit records, files, and HRIS entries; ensures compliance with benefit-related regulations and reporting requirements.
2. Student Worker / Work-Study Program Leadership
- Serves as the primary coordinator for all work-study recruiting, hiring, onboarding, placement, and compliance processes.
- Consults with campus departments to determine student staffing needs, competencies, and placement strategies.
- Guides students through application, hiring, onboarding, and general employment questions.
- Reviews and recommends workflow, system, and process improvements for student employment.
- Supports event planning and special projects related to student employment.
- Designs and delivers training sessions for work-study supervisors and student workers.
3. Recruitment, Onboarding, Training & General HR Support
- Supports recruitment for faculty, staff, and student positions; assists hiring managers in identifying skill and competency needs.
- Responds to applicant inquiries and ensures a professional candidate experience.
- Supports onboarding, compensation processes, training programs, performance support, leave management, offboarding, and compliance documentation.
- Develops, schedules, and presents HR-related training sessions; maintains the HR training calendar.
- Develops, updates, and maintains training materials, checklists, and workflows.
- Monitors, tracks, and documents ongoing training for campus employees.
- Maintains active and archived HR and personnel files, including HRIS updates.
- Assists with audit preparation by gathering documentation and ensuring compliance.
- Stays current with federal, state, and regulatory developments; recommends policy updates accordingly.

ROLE of the POSITION
UNLV HumanResources is seeking applications to join our Compensation and Classification team. The position may be filled at the Associate, Analyst, or Senior Analyst level, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Compensation/Classification, this position plays a critical role in supporting the university's classification and compensation infrastructure, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant practices across campus.
The position is expected to conduct job evaluations, analyze internal and external market data, support the development of compensation models, and provide consultation to campus stakeholders. Senior-level candidates will demonstrate advanced expertise, greater autonomy, and responsibility for complex projects, campus-wide communications, and mentoring lower-level analysts.

Essential functions:

Participates in professional development opportunities that further build core competencies.
Identifies, evaluates and communicates qualitative and quantitative data trends to assist leaders in making data-driven decisions
Administers classified (non-exempt) classification and compensation structure, state regulations, and guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Compensation/Classification Analyst
Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and one year of experience working in humanresources.
Compensation/Classification Analyst:
