The Archives Intern will assist with the arrangement, digitization, and description of archival collections, gaining hands-on experience within an art museum setting. Under the guidance of the Director of Library and Archives and the Archives Fellow, the Intern will support processing the Dr. Francis V. O'Connor Research Collection, which includes artist files, manuscripts, and materials related to O'Connor's scholarship on Jackson Pollock and artists of the Federal Art Project within the Works Progress Administration.
The ideal candidate is passionate about archives, art history, American history, and/or digital innovation, and demonstrates a willingness to learn, take initiative, problem-solve, and collaborate effectively.

Position Summary:
The Intern, Performance & Artist-in-Residence is a member of the Curatorial team who supports the programmatic vision through curatorial and administrative support as well as the multiple initiatives of the Artist in Residence Program. Duties and Responsibilities:
Performance:
Support research and content development for the ongoing program of performances, presentations, commissions, and artist residencies
Support writing, including program notes, program descriptions, marketing copy, wall texts, content guides for use internally, and catalogue entries
Support artist led, public facing opportunities under the supervision of Curator
Support design, development and presenting of internal and external share outs
Support development, maintenance, and monitoring of Performance budget in collaboration with collaborating departments
Support venue tours and brief staff and volunteers on program details
Provide organizational support for Performance projects, including scheduling project meetings, booking meeting rooms, preparing agendas and sending out notes focused on next steps
Support review and execution of contracts
Support the coordination Performance and Artist-in-Residence interns and volunteers
Support organizing, maintaining, and archiving project files and documentation
Support project management of Performance projects, working closely with the Curator, Production team, internal departments, and various outside vendors
Artist-in-Residence:
Support the daily operations of the Artist-in-Residence program
Support Curatorial Assistant, Performance & Artist-in-Residence Coordinator in arrangements for artists-in-residence, including housing, transportation, community connections, and in-studio/on-site needs.
Work closely with Curatorial team to support the growth and improvements of the developing program

Qualifications:
Focus on Arts Administration, Curating, Art History or equivalent experience preferred.

Proven experience and success in project coordination and in meeting deadlines within fast-paced working environments
Willingness to learn specialized software systems is preferred, including TMS, EMS, Workday

Ability to maintain the highest ethics as they relate to all aspects of curatorial endeavor and to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion

Position Summary:
The Museum Interpretation Intern assists the Interpretation Manager and Director of Interpretation, who work in collaboration with the curatorial and learning & engagement teams, in formulating narrative and interpretive strategies for artworks and exhibitions. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn about and contribute to the research, planning, and implementation of interpretive tools for the Museum's exhibitions and art installations. These include items such as brochures, activity guides, rack cards, labels, audio tours, and other digital tools that encourage guest engagement and learning (in the galleries, on the grounds, and in other museum-related spaces).
The goal is to create an impactful and rewarding experience for our museum guests. This internship offers hands-on training in the museum profession and an overview of museum exhibition operations from the early planning stages through implementation.

Position Summary
The Havner Curatorial Summer Internship at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is a paid, residential opportunity designed to provide first-hand experience within a curatorial department and meaningful exposure to the operations of a major American art museum. Havner Interns work one-on-one with a member of the Curatorial team and support a variety of projects, including exhibition development, object research, interpretive writing (such as object labels), and initiatives related to the full scope of the museum's collection, which spans the 18th century to today.
As part of Crystal Bridges' robust summer internship cohort, Havner Interns will join a vibrant community of colleagues across multiple departments. Through orientation, scheduled conversations, and cross-departmental engagements, interns will develop a broad understanding of museum practice while expanding upon their academic training and applying their knowledge in professional, real-world contexts.
This internship is open to current undergraduate juniors and seniors, as well as first- and second-year graduate students. The 8-week internship runs from June 1 through July 24, 2026. Interns are expected to work 35-40 hours per week. The stipend is paid biweekly, with undergraduate interns earning $13/hour and graduate interns earning $14/hour.
