The Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following education and experience:
Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, or closely related field; AND
Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience or two years of experience as a HumanResources Analyst or Risk Analyst with the City of Fresno. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Role Summary:
Jireh Packing Company, Inc. is seeking a dependable and self-motivated HumanResources & Safety Clerk to assist with HR and safety functions during 2nd shift operations at our packing facility. This position provides administrative and clerical support to maintain accurate HR records and ensure timely, comprehensive safety documentation. The ideal candidate will help foster a positive and safe work environment by engaging with employees, communicating effectively, and assisting with the implementation of HR and safety policies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
HumanResources
Serve as the humanresources contact during 2nd shift operations, addressing employee concerns, answering questions, and providing guidance on company policies.
Facilitate the onboarding and training of new hires, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, timekeeping, and performance documentation.
Support employee relations by promoting a positive work environment and assisting with conflict resolution.
Assist in administering HR programs, such as benefits enrollment and employee engagement initiatives.
Collaborate with HR management on disciplinary actions and policy enforcement.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all workplace safety regulations (OSHA, Cal/OSHA) and company safety policies.
Assist in conducting safety training and inspection of the facility to identify and mitigate hazards.
Document workplace accidents or incidents and promptly report details to the appropriate supervisor or safety personnel. Assist in gathering witness statements and completing initial incident reports.
Coordinate emergency response efforts with supervisors and first responders to ensure swift and systematic resolution.
Promote a culture of safety by encouraging proactive hazard reporting and safe work practices.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills (required).
Must possess a valid driver's license, meet insurability requirements, and have a safe and reliable vehicle.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with record-keeping abilities.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
Experience in a humanresources or safety-related role, preferably in a packing house, food production, or agricultural setting is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and workplace safety regulations is a plus, but not required.
